http://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/sport/football/hull-city/high-ambition-for-bruce-1-4835119 Bruce impresses me more and more in his interviews. Sounds like he'll want to stuff the Udders too!
I d suggest that the same interview wouldnt have sounded so impressive when written for the Hull daily mail with average reader age of around 16! Ok Ok, I prefer the Yorkshire Post to our local ****e! Nice one Sooty.....
I know some will only care about results but you know what? I'm really proud of our club right now. I think we have some very good human beings running it, no matter what the level. A really nice squad with what seems like very few trouble makers... non of that naughty step crap... a manager who would probably be a great bloke to have a drink with, managers who are honest and down to earth. (well hopefully). it's good to be a tiger! Now let's get some results going and get a good run going.
Nice article well written. But the bit that sticks out to me is Bruce saying """Look at the next tv deal ? mindblowing""" and thats before the new overseas rights are included in the final figure for season 2013/14.
and have you mentioned how much you prefer the award winning Brans'urm Daily Mail before? Do you buy all your fresh food from Skelton's on rerd by the way?
Ooooh Skelly's. Long gone sadly mussy. If you hate Hull so much why the fuk do you choose to support the team.
I'm quite liking the manager at the moment and I agree with getting rid of Darrem Robinson, but don't kid yourself, there are still some dodgy things going on behind the scenes at City.
Just the same stuff I've been going on about for months. The owners and others in charge at the top of the club love to feed us constant soundbytes about their ambition and what they're doing for the club but they're still ripping people off right, left and centre and I don't think the fans are being totally looked after. If you look at, say, Brighton who have recently been going out of their way to make nice little touches for home and away fans, we're the opposite. Any decision that needs making is made solely on what will save us the most money. Steve Bruce us experienced and as such gives very good interviews, but I bet he's nowhere near as happy with the owners as he makes out. I think he's getting paid a fair bit and he sees we've got a decent chance of promotion which is why he's here, but I bet they're falling out over little things all the time and the relationship might not be so rosey in say 6 months. The Darren Robinson thing doesn't seem uite right to me either.
That's quite a claim to make, can you put some meat on the bones. I reckon the Allams are hard bargainers but i dont see them ripping people off.
Any actual substance or facts to bolster any of these fantasies? You even use Brighton as an example without giving any actual facts. Your post in fact looks like a soundbyte you're accusing the club of.. I know we differ on opinions on the club, and I think we're both happy to agree to disagree but honestly, if I put a post out along the lines of "Everything at the club is brilliant now, everyone is happy, SB loves the Allams and the Allams are happy to give him whatever he wants" I would hope you'd at least call me on it, because, it would be basically bollocks, or hearsay, or anything that isn't an actual fact. Unless I said FACT ofc, then, well you know. "Gut feeling" doesn't quite cut it btw.
Firstly their previous business before Allam marine (some shipping company) went bankrupt and they ripped loads of people off there, a bit like Portsmouth have done in recent years with the taxman and their local ambulance stuff. I mean people like the OSC who try to get people into Hull City but find it increasingly difficult when the club give them nothing to work with. Pearson used to arrange signed shirts for them to raffle off, and the club now say they'll do the same thing for £100. The fact that a pint has gone up to £3.80 at the KC, and it's a pint of cheap piss. That's extortion if you're in London, never mind Hull. The disabled supporters paying a **** load more. The pensioners discount going up. Assem is always having 'health scares' and some people worry that he might not be able to or want to be in charge of the club any more, and Ehab, whilst he is more rational than Assem, doesn't give a **** about football and he says so himself. We just aren't the nice, well-run club we used to be. We're now a ruthless business who care about nothing but saving money in the short-term, even if it costs more in the long-term.
It isn't gut feeling it's just what I've heard from a few people who speak to the owners. It's nothing cool like the info OLM gets like transfers and lineups and stuff but I hear a lot about their plans and ideas and how they treat people and it just doesn't impress me. It's literally one negative story after another. The thing I posted before about stopping scouting for example. I know you didn't believe me but Assem actually said that to someone I know and he totally meant it. The guy who told me is actually up Mr Allam's arse by his own admission so there's no issue of bias.
We never were a well run club, that's always been our problem. There might be elements of the club that aren't "nice" in some people's eyes, and I appreciate you listing some of your concerns but the hard reality is, we were VERY badly run, and have been for a long time, now, we're run well and on a basis that regardless of what the Allams do with us, should continue to the case, unless some twat like Bates came in and stripped us of course. Most of things you listed might seem "nice to haves" but the reality is, those things cost the club money, and that's one of the things that has been tightened up. Sure, sometimes these types of things can hurt, but for the long term health and security of the club, they're needed. I did agree with some of those things, the OSC are a bunch of ****s judging by their FB page, no idea who drives the cost of food/drink at the KC but yeah that seems a little daft, and disabled supporters...sorry but I think this is very fair. Very few successful business men are what us normal folks would call "nice" but that doesn't make them monsters, they're just better equipped to make the hard decisions I know I wouldn't want to make. Also, how old is Dr Allam? It's not unreasonable for him to be having health scares... Bottom line for me still is without the Allams, there would be NO club, and because of them, the club has a long term, secure and healthy looking future.
