@SkyBet Sky Bet We have suspended betting on the next Premier League manager to go after seeing significant, sustained betting on Steve Bruce to leave #SFC ==========================================
They'll pick up. having said that they are easily the worst team I've seen us play this year by a country mile too, it was 2-1 but should have been 4-0! I saw fans walking out at 2-0 with plenty of time left hurling abuse at Bruce and the team. Bruce lost the fans once he lost 5-1 to Newcastle IMO, the final nail in the coffin was when his expensively assembled squad lost to cost-cutting Newcastle side in the NE Derby. For any team to lose at home to Wigan is just ridiculous IMO
he als bought a whole new team and shipped out a few players as well. I sometimes wonder whether some football fans are just too fickle and demand instant success. Before we played Stoke, there was banter with a Stoke fan who said that some fans had turned on Tony Pulis, who, in my opinion has been very very good for them. Who would have though they would be in Europe? Alan Curbishley suffered after keeping Charlton in top 10 of premiership for years, he leaves and they fall down the divisions Maybe every team has place they should aim for and be happy with?
It's been far from demanding instant success, we know where we are and who we are. If your club won only 3 times at home in a year would your fans be happy? We've all seen the problems starting as early as February. We lost Fraizer Campbell to injury 14 months ago, we lost Darren Bent 10 months ago so we've had at least 3 months in the summer to sign a replacement for one of these and nothing with done about either. He sold our only recognised left back in the first 2 months he joined us and still hasn't even signed a left back yet! Also we didn't have a left sided midfielder before he signed and yet again he hasn't addressed that problem. More than just expecting instant results...
Ninj, I think many Stoke fans aren't pissed off about their league position but the atrocious style of football. I'd take a 1-0 scrappy win over a 4-4 draw but there's only so much Pulis football a man can take. They completed 118 passes against us in 97 minutes of football.
For a man fit enough to have been playing at the top not THAT long ago, Steve Bruce has weakened considerably during his management career. It's written all over his battered face. Getting redder with each season. He has a great deal of passion but unfortunately little else. As a manager carrying so much responsibility, you need to be cool, calm and collected - letting your forward plans and strategy unroll and do your talking for you. That's not Steve is it? Needs a break imo.
So did City, United and more to the point Norwich and Swansea. I would expect at least 50% of PL teams to walk away with something at Anfield this season. Liverpool won't finish near the top 6 IMO, way too inconsistent and don't have the squad or players. Anfield always has and always will be a difficult place to go and win, but it certainly isn't a difficult place to go and get a point judging by the last 3 or 4 seasons alone. I would be very disappointed if Chelsea left Anfield without at least a point
