A few of the lads were choking up in their interviews too. Macca's was brilliant. There's obviously a great team spirit..particularly among the Irish lads. Its nice to see a group of players who really like each other and are not mercenaries just looking for a big payday.

Think Bruce sees this as his biggest achievement in football which is quite something given the Man Utd days when he was a 15 goal a season man from centre-back, was nice to see Bruce jr in the thick of it too watching it playing out, he's had tons of **** of people but always did job and look where we are now

Did you see the hug he gave Brady when they got back into the dressing room, just after the promotion - thought he was going to squeeze the life out of him!

Steve Bruce has done an amazing job, if we hadn't had the injuries to Frayatt and Aluko we would have walked the league along with Cardiff. Credit to the manager for trusting the Allam's, and credit to the Allam's for backing him all the way, and they have seen through together what they set out to achieve.

He took a hell of a punt today, switching the formation we've played most of the season, sticking Macca at left back and Brady up front. Fair play to him, it got a performance when we really needed it, the bloke pulled off a blinder today.

Whilst I was gutted for Nicky and I wish we could turn back the clock and have him never take the full time managers post so that could all turn out differently. Steve Bruce has been magnificent this season in the players he's brought in, the players he's turned round in their performance and most (nobodys perfect ) of his tactical decisions - what a bloke and damn it all he even seems to care about the club, the city and the fans - top bloke.

Thank you Steve Bruce. A true gent, what a fantastic job he has done getting us up automatically.

Thank you City. Despite frustrating the **** out of us time and time again this year, you proved you've got what it takes, and deserved it thoroughly.

Finally, thank you Allams. No real need to explain why...

He was tearing up in the interviews.

Also, Brady looked completely overwhelmed, it clearly meant a lot to him. Showed in that hug with Brucey, neither wanted to let go!
