Steve Bruce has been like with a sensational return back to the Stadium of Light. It is believe the Sunderland board regret sacking Steve Bruce after seeing the miracle work he has performed at relegation candidates Hull Tigers. Sources at Hull say a Steve Bruce is seriously considering making the move back north as he feels he'll have more money and no fear of the Egyptian gods getting involved in his job. Yeah, it looks like they're going to make a formal approach later today. Bruce set to return to Sunderland
100-1 fill ya boots then Jamie boy... http://www.oddschecker.com/football/football-specials/sunderland/next-permanent-manager

A fairly acrimonious split and the fact Bruce is so settled at City mean the bookies have him as a 66/1 long shot to replace Di Canio. Favourites are Roberto Di Matteo, Gus Poyet and Tony Pulis.
Can`t see Brucey being daft enough to take on this poison chalice tbh, given what Dicanio has brought in, no room for manoevre until january, and given how he seems to have had his appetite boosted while being in charge here, would be very suprised to see him go for it, even with his roots.
It must be slow news day - just like when he was linked to the Wigan job, it is a classic red-top hack story. I would throw Phil Brown's name into the ring - as wasn't he linked to the job when in charge at us
There's as much chance of SB going back to Sun'lan as there is of you having another friend other than your online romance with Bubba who's doing life for animal related crimes in Kentucky State Correctional Facility. Plank.
Loony or not, after what happened with Nigel Pearson and his return to Leicester I'll always get shivers when these sort of rumours start! Obviously we went on to greater things but we couldn't have envisaged that at the time, and I was one of those on the Leicester board saying that it'd never happen and that they were deluded - I obviously didn't account for the Pearson greed factor - so this time I'm saying nowt
I really wish people would stop going on about the supposed 'greed'. It had literally next to nothing to do with it, he simply didnt want to report direct to The Allams and wanted out from the moment Adam left. I cant see any reason Bruce would go there. If it was Newcastle it would be a different kettle of fish, he'd defo go there.
just out of interest, has this plonker james been collared, came on earlier and he was flooding the board with regurgitated threads !!!
As soon as he bought Hull FC Adam was always leaving and that's what I meant. He was never going to continue both roles, the whole world and Nigel knew that and he didnt want to report to the Allams. I know what I'm on about here.
