Not a wind-up ... really can't see it myself but nothing in football would surprise me hese days .. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/oct/10/bolton-wanderers-manager
I shouldn't say this a Town fan but we have now reached breaking point. Please give us a good going over Saturday week because we want that useless **** out! We can't have him scraping a draw or getting a sneaky win to prolong our agony!
They're already £110m in debt, can you image the compo negotiations with Assem, they'd end up in tears.
It wouldn't surprise me either Foz,but like you i don't see it. Names get bandied about willy nilly, every time there's a vacant position. I would also think Bruce know's full well,he needs to lose that mercenary tag.
Wear bags over your head and boo every time your team touches the ball. That worked for us here, we got the idiot fired 5 minuets after the game ended.
How many bags should they wear ? Who did we get sacked exactly ? Should i go for Indian or Chinese ? Does anyone know where i can get Lasagne delivered to my door ?
I meant here as in the US. We got our hockey coach sacked. Probably 5000 fans or so on thanksgiving day wore paper bags over their heads (the kind you get at a grocery store), we booed our team every time they touched the puck. We then cheered the other team every time they got the puck. Dude was literally fired as soon as the game was over. There were 18 games left when he was fired and with the new coach taking over we then went on to win 16 out of our last 18 games and made the playoffs by a one game. It was just an example, if the fans are united a coach needs to leave it isnt hard to come up with some collective action to get a coach fired. I dont know if the bag thing translates to you all but it is a thing here.
I think in this country there is always the chance you would hear major discontent being aimed at managers or owners. But I would say it is rare (perhaps even unheard of), for fans to turn against the players and the team wholesale. I know the intention for you was to remove the manager, and that it worked, but I don't think British football fans are prepared to boo their team's every touch in order to achieve an aim. Which is an interesting cultural difference, I think. We tend to hold players as the least responsible for a club's woes in most circumstances. Cue disagreement from numerous fellow Brits....
Agreed, i couldn't see it happening here. If it did i'm sure it would be from small sections, not from the whole lot, and maybe even fighting amongst the seperate groups.
Sven tried to lose the mercenary tag too, but it was waiting for him behind a corner one night & smacked him on the nose..
