Just wondering but was Sterling actually injured last night or was he dropped? Given the issues over his new contract the timing is suspect. As Ibe has been brought back into the squad is this to show Raheem that he is replacable? Any thoughts?
He was injured for sure I think, it sure looked like he was clobbered in the derby. But it's nice that we won without him and Ibe has stepped up and Sturridge has returned. No player is bigger than the club, and last night's game kind of showed that
He I jured his foot against Bolton, think I remember him going down and staying down for a bit before hobbling around and obviously playing against EVerton wasn't enough time to fix it. Sure he'll be back for the weekend or European game
Think he needs taking down a notch or two Sterling does. Great player but not as good as he can be. Getting too big for his Warrior booties if you ask me. Probably just his agents and advisors turning him into an arse tho
Not sure if its his agents, his own ego or both but yes, no player is bigger than the club and should look to sell if his contract isn't renewed by summer.
Wrong yet again... As your manager said before the game last night, he'd picked up a foot injury in the game at Bolton #bosh
sterling is like steve mcmanaman... a good player but one who can't bloody shoot and the end product is not there. I like the boy's grit and he works hard but he is not all that and I do feel LFC need to get real about wages cos he can prob snag what he is after at many clubs now but none could afford the fee as well. hell west ham could f'n pay him 100k. I'd give him a good contract to secure his value but i'd be quite happy to sell him and get good money in.. lets face it markovic is signed up and has done ok, not as good as sterling but getting better.. ibe came back in and is like we thought on his debut prob better than sterling. coutinho just signed up to 2020 or something how many players do you want in the slot? all in all he's not the best player cos he misses too many right now. you have to have the end product.
Either he signs or we sell. I'm not bothered either way. He won't do better at another club and will be used as an example of a career being derailed by stupidity. In the long term we save loads of money by not negotiating with terrorists agents and no player is bigger than the team (see Gerrard).
hardly when he runs it down and has not agreed anything by april then you'll know its full blown greed looking to move on a free eventually. LFC should bin him for last month if we've options in this regard then sell for maximum fee possible. Him sitting and watching sturrdige, coutinho (new contracts) and ibe/markovic playing and him wondering... well... he might wake up. I simply cannot see him playing at a real madrid or even cheslea... for example. he'd not get a game.
But he's under contract until the end of 2017 isn't he? So even come the summer he's got 18 months left. I reckon it's his agent in fairness, who'd argue he's only doing his job, as if he was offered to Liverpool on a Bosman would Liverpool pay him £130k per week? Probably is the answer............
Sterling is currently 20yrs and 3months. Lukaku was 21yrs and 1month when he joined you. That ten months makes a world of difference eh...?
100%. The Prem have just signed a multi-billion deal, and the players, represented by avaricious agents, will want to get every penny they're worth. Well, be honest, it's not going on the fans anytime soon, and it's better in the players' pockets than the likes of the Glaziers, Abramovich and so forth (imagine if we still had Hicks....). Just remember this when Mirallas acts up for the rest of the season though.
Not much really, just thought I'd try my hand at the Evertonian approach to discussing a player #compare.com
