Lots of air time on Raheem this morning wanting to leave with a lot of people calling him greedy, I for one think he's making the sensible move, Liverpool have little chance of winning the league and no great players which suggest they could make the Champions league next year either. Get out of the ****house of a club whilst you can, otherwise he could end up another Gerrard, a lifer at a club that underachieved compared to his peers.
That doesn't mean he's not greedy. He could go to Real for huge wages and therefore be both greedy because of the money but sensible because of the prospects of success.
I don't think he's either, I think it's more an inflated sense of his own ability. I don't think he wants more money than Liverpool will offer, I think he wants trophies and glory but somehow - Lord knows why - he thinks he could walk into one of the top teams in Europe. He wouldnt get anywhere ****ing near the starting XI of Real Madrid, Barca, Bayern or even Chelsea. FACT. If Liverpool get £30m it'll be as good a sale as Newcastle managed with Carroll.
If he was wanting to leave a team like Spurs I doubt anyone would really give a ****. It's really down to Liverpool just not being able to cope with the fact that they're just not a big club any more.
Sterling was happy to jump ship from QPR to join Liverpool, why are they so surprised; a leopard doesn't change its spots!
He won't win anything with Liverpool, but I'd be surprised if he was good enough for a starting spot with a better PL side. As for the money? Grab as much as you can, whenever you can, your career could be over next week and he sure as hell isn't smart enough to be successful in any other industry.
The world's gone mad... James Milner will turn down a new four-year contract worth up to £165,000 a week in order to join Arsenal.
S'pose it depends what Arsenal are offering. If Pellegrini goes his replacement might not be offering Milner regular football. If Wenger is and the money's comparable I suppose it makes some sort of sense. Anway, the (premier league football) world's always been mad.
The club failed to match his ambitions. It's not his fault Liverpool aren't thinking big enough for him. (as a Saints fan, I cannot keep the grin off my face while typing that).
meanwhile Rogers continues to dig himself one big hole by saying he won't leave this Summer!! If Sterling doesn't want to be there and someone is offering a 'big fee', why wouldn't you get shut!
He came.on to the scene at liverpool 2 years ago and set the game alight, played at the worle cup, but his devolpment has greatly stalled He is not good enough to play for a top club, i think he will fade away tbh
Its a panic offer from City, he obviously wasn't initially in their plans or they wouldn't have waited until 3 weeks before his contract expired to try and get something sorted.
Things like that make it easier to anyone thinking of walking away from City and finding other ways of spending their leisure time. Or any other club for that matter.
Yep and after the way one of our players has repaid that fantastic wage and lifestyle. I may go and support Hall Road Rangers a club doing it the right way...
Sterling is at the right point of his career to make this call. The money is an aside, but why not get his best all round deal. Liverpool are poor, the manager is poor and his squad is shambolic, so why shouldn't a 20yr old lad put himself in the shop window? As for his talent, I think it has far less to with were he is at right now, but how he might develop in the next 3yrs. Some very, very harsh judgments on here. Too many folk falling into their own critical pot of putting money before development; but it would be very savvy to get both, which he won't at Liverpool.
