I am very shocked to find out that author Stephen Foster died over summer & I only foud out from the Oatcake this weekend. I loved She Stood There Laughing and the account there in of Stoke going 2-0 down at a snow covered Norwich, before coming back for a 2-2 draw. I see that it has been initially stated that he drowned, but futher tests were needed. Anyone know any more...
BathStoke I read " she stood there laughing" at Christmas and it made feel like I knew the guy. He was an amazing Stoke fan and even though he lived in Norwich he travelled the length and breadth of the country to watch his beloved Stoke City and even converted his son into being a red and white. I felt a twinge of sadness at hearing of his death a fw months ago as he would have had the luxury of a home game at Norwich this year but unfortunately it was never to be. His passion's in life were his son, his original hometown football team the mighty potters, his writing and walking his dogs. It was whilst out walking his dogs that he met his demise. A very loyal fan and a great bloke. Stoke lost another legend when he sadly passed on! RIP Steve!

I did not know the guy or have ever read his books, but looking at the tributes the man got on the oatcake site when the tragedy was revealed, it seems he was a honest, intelligent funny, warm loving gent, who just loved scfc & his family. RIP Fellow Stokie
Huthy he was a true Stokie mate and followed his club through thick and thin. If you read his book you will feel like you know him http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-li...?ie=UTF8&qid=1315244025&sr=8-1&condition=used
Waddo Thanks for all the links etc I have not read his book mate.. but, just from reading the comments on the Oatcake site... what a guy he was. Loved his football, loved Stoke City and a great family man too! Sad, sad news to hear of his passing. R.I.P. Steve
Waddo cheers for the link mate, but have never been a reader of books. All i do know is from everyone (even other fans) whoever read his books, really enjoyed what stephen wrote. Maybe when i retire, i can put me feet up, relax with a drink & get into reading
