Stephen Dobbie opened his account again on 21 minutes to put Ian Holloway's side into the lead from 25 yards, his fifth goal in as many starts. Dobbie has made an instant impact again this season for the Seasiders, and his fine form continues. Dobbie came close to getting a second goal as Tom Ince's curling cross narrowly evaded him. Blackpool put the result beyond doubt just after the hour, Dobbie and Ince exchanged passes to send Crainey into the area, where his shot flew between Grant's hands and into the net. Blackpool 4 - 0 Burnley.

I hope your getting the picture, because for me, this has been one of this seasons big mistakes by Rodgers, not allowing this talented striker gain Premiership form, to send Dobbie out on loan after not using his talent all season, is the one flaw in Rodgers season, that and putting Lita and Moore in front of him, this to shows that Rodgers has still got a lot to learn. Giving Dobbie just 2 starts this season, tells me that Rodgers had some preconceived ideas regarding Dobbie this season, yet we had to watch the likes of Moore and Lita play in front of him, who's games and movement, are like watching paint dry. I have seen enough of Moore and Lita to say thanks but no thanks and Cheerio. I hope that Rodgers takes his nepotistic rose tinted glasses off, and rectifies this next season, though I doubt he will, Blackpool have now secured their place in the Championship play offs, thanks to one Swansea Legend, that is Stephen Dobbie!

Who would you rather have playing every week - Dobbie or Sigurdsson? There's your answer. And Dobbie is scoring in the Championship not the Premier League.

That's not an issue, as Moore was playing alongside Siggy today most of the game, so whats your point aswan, you talk as if Siggy had been with us all season, and not weeks! besides Watching Moore and Lita play, is like watching League one players!................<cheers>

thats true aswan but at the moment now we are safe and danny cant hit a barn door with a shovel, he could have played these last 4 games to give him experience in the premiership. I think now that he will stay at blackpool when the seasons over and its a shame we never gave him a chance to show what he can do in the last 4 games....

Trouble with aswan is he's not put his thinking cap on, Siggy has only been with us since January, why couldn't Rodgers have given Steven Dobbie games early season, so he could develop his game, no all he did was throw him in the deep end for two games, then benched him all season, great bit of management skill there aye, how many goals has Lita and Moore scored?? forget it, it is not worth talking about, yet Dobbie has scored 5 goals in three matches, and the argument that, that is in the Championship don't wash, as the difference in the top 6 championship, and bottom 6 Prem is not worth spitting over, and I hope that our board raise some issues on this one closed season!............... <ok>

Ok, just put the cap on, Phil. <whirring noises from within head>

I love Dobbie as much as you but he is essentially a lazy footballer. Perhaps you can get away with that in the Championship but not the Prem League.

Moore is also lazy. Why Moore over Dobbie? I don't have the answer. <cheers>

Stephen Dobbie is not a Premier League goal scorer. Have you bothered to watch the Football League show? His goals were all tap-ins. Admittedly, he had to be in the right place to score them, but he's doing this in The Championship.

You do know the difference, right?

Dobbie has been treated disgracefully, that`s my opinion. I don`t know why he`s been ignored all season by Brendan, perhaps things happened behind closed doors, who knows.

After last season, he deserved at least a half chance to show his worth, not just two starts & bit part substitutions, he was worth giving more of a chance than that.

Anyway, it`s all done & dusted now, I doubt he`ll be back here (if it`s his choice), and he might very well be playing against us next season. If he does, my money`s on him getting a hat-trick.

I have seen some reserve games with dobbie playing, and he hasn't set the world on fire, so if he is not performing there and obviously not impressing in training , do you put such a player into a premier league game ? We need players that can contribute at a higher level, dobbie for me is a championship player, that is his level. Who do you suggest we drop for him ? Would he have made a vast difference to where we are now ?

Dobbie had a blinder last season, but he just didn't fit into the current set-up. In all honesty, who are you going to leave out of the starting side? OK, fair enough, he's a bench player, but a bench player getting loaned out to a good Championship side? Doesn't that ring a bell? It happens all the time. I don't know why people are shedding so much light on it. It's not like we've struggled without him.

i know he needed to go out on loan because brendan never gave him a chance and im glad he is enjoying his football again and scoring for fun whether its tap ins or long range, it dont matter they all count. an opportunity by brendan is missed now that could have gave him a run in the premiership either replacing goal shy danny or even along side danny. Ill be surprised if he wants to come back under the management of brendan ever again, and you cant blame him really....

I agree with whoever said that somethings going on behind the scene though. I think both parties are too classy to come out with it before Dobbie's left the club but I think there might be a few things said once he's out of The Liberty.

Where could you have used Dobbie you ask! Well that's not difficult one to answer, I wouldn't have wasted money on Moor and Lita, and Dobbie would have been my preferred sub, not difficult one is it, or are you trying to say that Dobbie could not have done what Lita and Moore have done this season! And I too have seen our shambolic reserves, and seen Dobbie there too, and it has no reference whatsoever to him being in the first team squad, our reserve team is a bench mark of zero, period! ........... <ok>

How can you say they are a waste of money with the benefit of hindsight ? That is the problem when people think they can do a better job, they have hindsight after the fact. Dobbie is not up to the standards we need in the premier league, it's one hell of a gamble to put him into the first 11 I think.

Nobody can say that Dobbie would have been more succesfull than Lita or Moore (Not hard, admittedly!). It's hypothetical. How many players have done well in The Championship then fallen on their backside in the big time? Taarabt has only just started to come good and we all know what he was like last season. Look at what happened to Jason Scotland. It's the roll of a dice half the time.

Graham is our starting forward (Quite rightly too) and there's no way Dobbie would get into the current midfield with how we play and what he has to offer.

Agreed, but even with hindsight, I have no idea why he signed Luke Moore, even at the time! Something like 5 or 6 goals in 40+ appearances for West Brom, then a spell at Derby? At least Lita bagged a few for Middlesbrough.

But Sig has made all that irrelevant. At least the goals came from somewhere!

We haven't had any big mistakes this season Phil but I guess some must hunt for something to be unhappy about or trying to justify old posts . There's a huge deference between Premier & Championship , Bucks use of Dobbie over the last 2 seasons seems to prove it . I wouldn't play Dobbie ahead of Moore or Lita , seems Rodgers is in agreement there . I think a lot of peoples eyes might be opened after Dobbie's gone & reasoning comes to light . How some people can't be happy , no matter what , leaves me puzzled .

Dobbie could be to Blackpool what Siggy is to us ! the big difference though is about £6-£8million.

I feel a bit sorry for him not getting a run of games to see if he could hack it as a 1st team regular prem player.

He is an excellent championship level player for sure and he may well help get a a few of them promoted over the coming seasons,
always the bridesmaid never the bride could make him bitter though ?
