Complaining about being singled out when 12 (mainly part-time) teams are playing the same number of games in the same time period = embarrassing.
Aye 12 teams. Including us. Don't know why I put part-time teams, I meant you were playing part-time teams Anyway, the reason you have 4 games in that time is because a) you postponed a game earlier in the season so it's been rescheduled and b) you chose not to move your game on boxing day. SPLstats ‏@SPLstats 4 Jan 1) There are 12 other SPFL clubs playing 4 times in 11 days or fewer. 4 of those clubs are actually playing 4 times in 10 days. SPLstats ‏@SPLstats 4 Jan 2) Clubs in the lower leagues had the option of moving Boxing Day fixture to Sat 21st Dec. Rangers were the only League 1 side who didn't. SPLstats ‏@SPLstats 4 Jan 3) Rangers have already postponed 3 games due to international call-ups this season (as is their right). This will lead to fixture pile-ups.
What was wrong with what he said? The guy's fleecing your club/company and you're all sitting lapping it up
The stenny guy's right...Mccoist moaning about playing 4 games in 2 weeks! Eh, leagues done n dusted...use yer massive well paid squad.
Nicky Law's double gave Scottish League One leaders Rangers victory over Stenhousemuir. The midfielder fired across the bows of Chris Smith and into the net nine minutes before the break. Rangers were then reduced to 10 men when Arnold Peralta was dismissed for a challenge on Eddie Malone. But Law sealed all three points for the visitors with a powerful strike following a well worked one-two with Jon Daly. This was the fourth game in 11 days for the Glasgow giants, a fixture schedule that had prompted complaints from boss Ally McCoist. Rangers had looked unconvincing against Airdrie, scraping a 1-0 win on 2 January, and were similarly uninspiring in the opening stages of this encounter. In fact, the home side would have been ahead after 18 minutes had it not been for the efforts of Cammy Bell. Sean Higgins pounced on a poor pass-back from Sebastien Faure to take him one on one with the Rangers goalkeeper, who raced off his line and did well to block, before swatting Sean Dickson's rebound shot to safety. At the other end, a mistake by Nicky Devlin gifted Lee Wallace a decent chance on goal but the left-back was denied the opener by the woodwork as his ferocious strike crashed off the crossbar. Law succeeded where Wallace failed by leaving the net bulging with 36 minutes on the clock. A Foster cross was nodded down by Jon Daly into the path of Law who lashed beyond the grasp of goalkeeper Chris Smith. However, Rangers were dealt a blow four minutes before the break when they were reduced to 10 men after Peralta was dismissed for an ill-timed challenge on Malone. The visitors were at a disadvantage in terms of numbers but could have added to their goal tally shortly after the restart. Little was felled 25 yards out and Wallace stepped up for the resultant free-kick only to drill straight at the goalkeeper. The second half proved to be flat for large spells. Fraser Aird eventually resorted to a shot from distance that was comfortably claimed by Smith as Rangers attempted to make their lead a more comfortable one. Perhaps taking inspiration from the last-gasp draw Stranraer earned at Ibrox recently, Stenhousemuir pushed forward in search of a late leveller. But clear-cut chances proved hard to come by and it was Rangers who struck again on the 90th minute. Law drove into the box before rifling a half volley into the roof off the net to wrap up the points.
please log in to view this image I saw most of the game today. Not the most exciting one ever. Law's goals were both good. Peralta looks like a useless nutter, The guy Gemmell was kept on the bench for the first half. He didn't get near the ball another useless nutter perhaps. McCoist shook hands with him as far as I'm aware.
