    Yes but you also know that people like Paul Merson and Charlie Nicholas will just take the mick and deliberately refer to it as Sports Direct Arena.

    Aye read this a few days ago. Wasn't really surprised as I remember his stance last time. He knows the region well and knows how the fans cherish the club, its history and so on. Unfortunately as others have mentioned, it'll just be a source of amusement to some.

    It will be interesting to see Steven Taylor for me. He refers to "St James" quite often in interviews etc, obviously because of affection for the club. I can't see Ashley allowing him to continue to do so as it would be a bit of a no no in business terms to have an employee referring to something by a previous name. I'd imagine that was who Pardew was referring too when discussing the players reaction and he said "we have one or two traditionalists".
