Has anybody heard anything about this kid???? Apparently according to the transfer thread on fof we have been linked to him with Bulgarian journalists apparently stating he has signed, also his dad apparently confirmed it on twitter so I typed " Stefan Velkov Fulham " into Google and transfer.com has us down as already signing him??? A little reading and hope this is true, apparently back in Bulgaria he is described as a wonder kid, he spent two weeks on trial at Man Utd last season and they tried to buy a first refusal option on him and also Roma had a loan offer turned down for him last season. He is a 6 foot 3 centre half who is right footed although only 17 he could theoretically go straight into the first team he appears very highly rated and played a full season in the Bulgarian top division
Rumours all over Twitter we have signed him with many sounding surprised he has come to us stating that Bayern, Roma and Man U wanted him.
If Man U/Bayern/Roma wanted him, they would've had him, it's as simple as that. That's not to say he's not talented, but another centre half?
Spot on Bidley. Where are all those midfielders? Clearly there is still time - although not a lot with pre-season friendlies already upon us - but at the moment there is an element of "Jol deja vu" in that all the rumours relate to positions 'apparently' already filled.
I can't imagine Felix being that short-sighted (despite the specs), the midfielders are coming guys don't worry.
Reports are trickling in over social media and internet that this deal has gone through and should be confirmed by the club very soon, The Sofia chairman has been quoted as saying it has been completed and he has signed a 5 year deal and the fee is €600,000
Good spot Cookie. Velkov is also a 17yr old rosc. And £500k approx is the going rate - well that's what Man Utd were apparently willing to pay back in December. Sounds like a steal!

It appears the deal may be off. Apparently Velkov has an Italian agent who wants a cut of the transfer fee and Slavia's owner doesn't want to work with him so has called the deal off.
