Anyone reckon Rafa might be interested in bringing him in come January? I could see him being tempted by us especially if we're looking odd on for automatic promotion.

Can he still cut it in the PL tho? Might have 1, maybe 2 seasons left in him as a squad rotation player I reckon and his wages wouldn't be astronomical given his age etc.

Not sure he's better than the ginger pirlo mind so he could have his work cut out getting into the squad!

I cant see him wanting to play for another English team personally. I suspect he will be offered a coaching role at Liverpool. It would be good to see him in the shirt however, as long as he didn't become another John Barnes or Ian Rush for us.

Likely to be hooking up with Brenda in Glesga if rumours are to be believed.

A big no thank you. Far too old now and we don't want a big time prima donna upsetting what we have now.

He may be too old, but he's hardly a prima donna. Professional and hard working throughout his career.

Zero chance of him coming here IMHO. He's not going to play in the Championship and he'd want more than we'd be willing to pay. Besides, I'd be looking to the future if we are going to buy a CM.

Greatest British player of his generation.
A generation now all retired from playing.

I hope he doesn't. Not because I don't want him to play for you guys (I can't see him playing for another English club either) but I would hate that he comes back is a shadow of the player he was, had a stinker and rather than going out as a great player he fades into an average player and some people only remember the last couple years.

Hoping he goes and does a job in our youth set up, good inspiration for the kids <ok>

I think he would still be class unless his legs go/have gone. He will always have his reading of the game and passing ability, but you'd imagine if he played in England he'd have to sit deeper in midfield and let others do the bulk of the running and forward play.

If you build a midfield around him and have him time and space like teams did when we came 2nd and had runners ahead guy would walk the league. But you'd have to have 2 either side doing his. Id field running and defending and im not sure in the champ he'd get enough time. In his last year with us he struggled a bit as teams pressed him early and he didn't have that burst to get away and he wasn't technically good enough to play that deep role like pirlo because that wasn't his game.

I wish hed had accepted a bit part role and stayed with us for 2 more years but he wanted to play first team football and he wasn't good enough to do that unfortunately.

You need to be more specific here - are you talking the Italian or Ginger variety?

I'm not sure Gerrard and Rafa get on so well.

I don't think the subsequent bashing of each other in the press would see them work together. I'm sure Gerrard pretty much took all the credit for the European Cup win. Non starter this. I doubt he has much left playing wise. I'm sure he could still do it but I think he will go into coaching to be honest. If they do get on I'd love him here as a coach. However I think Klopp has already opened the door.

Don't think he'd add anything, past it now and not experienced in the champ; if anything I think he'd just destabilise things, an maybe be detrimental with the rest of the team being "in awe" of him.

Shelvey, Colback and Hayden doing fine in midfield, if it ain't broke etc...

He won't come to us for various reasons. Would love him to though.

I'd rather have Lampard playing in behind Gayle or Mitro in the number 10 role. I reckon he would get loads more goals than Diame

He already left liverpool as a shadow of himself so no change to his legacy he has left behind :p
