Ex-Mackem midfielder Steed Malbranque said on Wednesday that the large colony of French players at Newcastle will be a problem for the Premier League club. It takes Alan Pardew's squad to ten French speakers, including Cheick Tiote, Gael Bigirimana and Papiss Cisse. Lyon's Belgian midfielder Steed Malbranque: "It will be a problem, I think, because without meaning to, at the beginning, the French players will stick with each other. "If some of them don't speak any English then they will only talk to the other Frenchmen. "That could lead to the creation of cliques and could create problems in the squad. I hope not for them but there is a risk. "At Fulham, we didn't have any major problems, but it is true that we French often kept to ourselves. "There was a little bit of tension, but once the French coach left things were different. "The coach must fix the rules. Tigana made us speak English to the other French players to show the English guys that we were making the effort. "There were little things like that. I don't know Alan Pardew, but if there are no rules then there will be problems. "They are going to be cold! It will be tough! The atmosphere in Newcastle is good but they will still feel the cold." --------------------------------------------------------------------------- I am buzzing he seems to have turned his career around again and is enjoying playing again
I'd be gutted if this French thing all went tits up for them But i'm sure for a club who are scrambling at the bottom of the table...have a **** or bust game next week.. a load of new French players with all the grit and determination they will bring is just what they need right now
What's worse, a group of players who mostly speak French, or a group of players from different parts of the world who speak different languages? Some of our players are very weak at English, some are good and can communicate well with the manager and staff, and if the other players can't understand English, then the other players can speak to them in French. We may not have many strong English speakers, but if 90% of them speak the same Language, it's a good thing, and Steed is talking a load of ****. It's not about speaking English, it's about being able to communicate as a team, and if our team do that in French, then who cares?
Another mag thread I see.... if we posted so much about SAFC on our board you geezers would accuse us of actually caring...
I imagine when Sunderland are going through some rough times ( and lets face it..we have our fair share ) The Newcastle boards are Sunderland free..no comments at all...
DEFINITELY THE GROUP WHO ALL SPEAK FRENCH....couldn't think of anything worse. Maybe eating slimy garden Slugs in shells.
You forgot the actual English players who can't speak Ingerlish either... Imagine how dangerous footballers would be if they were educated
Don't be fooled that we care about you. It's just that you lot are so brilliant at making absolute ****wits out of yourselves on a daily basis, it would be criminal of us not to piss ourselves soaking wet ripping the piss and humiliating you even more.
the new French player went into the haidresser's and asked for a perm. The geordie lass said 'ee alright pet----- I wandered as a cloud that floats ...................
