Really enjoyed the game and, in my opinion, Swansea didn’t look out of place on the big stage – there were enough positives there to keep me quietly confident! Vorm was superb – nothing he could do about the goals, Augustien was excellent and I was proud of the whole team.

Man City are a different class and there is no shame in this defeat. The way we kept going, even when the game was well lost, showed a real ‘never say die’ attitude that will serve us well in the games to come. We are going to lose to the top teams – but may provide a few shocks. What we have to do is beat the teams around us and, on the evidence of this display, we are well capable of doing that!

    Cartoon,
We're carrying on a tradition of losing our first game. For periods we were ok and Kemi great but our back four poor lost shape at times no need to panic think we have enough after playing the billionaires think Dobbie will be a luxury away from home trying to play the champagne pass when the simple will do

I expected us to lose by a few goals and this happens in the Premiership week in week out when the big teams play the rest. More importantly we were not out of place and played premiership class football. Those Man City players were not only world class but BIG. They could run through any defence in the world like a hot knife through butter. This game has not changed anything. We've had our first dip in the water now the players know what to expect and can adjust to the level.

Not down hearted at all, for the quality that Man City have, we may as well have been playing Spain or Brazil lol.

Bring on Wigan , Blackburn , Norwich , QPR etc
