Looking at staying over for a few nights down in London on the weekend we play Arsenal. I didn't do this for the semi so was looking for some advice from those that perhaps did. I'm going to drive down but not sure where the best place to stay would be, i.e just outside of London etc. Of anyone has any advice as to what is best that would be great, ideally don't want to spend a fortune but I do understand it's not going to be cheap. Thanks.
I cancelled a travelodge at Uxbridge that was 63 quid two days ago. It's 30 minutes on the tube to Wembley park station. Not done it before but I think it will work out Ok.
Stopping in centre of Harrow again (Best Western) , 5 min walk from Harrow on the Hill underground station just 3 stops from Wembley on Metropolitan Line. Bit more expensive than semi and now paying £115 for the Saturday night but free parking included ( breakfast £8.50 per person extra, which was okay )

It is a decent pub with rooms, not flash but ok and includes a continental breakfast and is on a main road with loads of restaurants, shops and other pubs nearby.
I don't understand why anyone wants to stay anywhere near Wembley. There'll be a thousand or two hitting Covent Garden after the game, get yourself somewhere central so you can join the party. There's a Travelodge in EC1 for £125 a night and it's less than two miles from Covent Garden. You can even get some good deals in the West End on a weekend, I'm staying in Russell Square.
I tend to agree there are loads of party and entertainment options in central London but he said that he was driving down and parking could be a bit of an issue.
Just check that there's parking nearby, that hotel I mentioned in EC1 has an NCP nearby which is £16 overnight. It's £30 for 24 hours in Russell Square, but that's about as high as it gets. In fact, bizarrely, it's cheaper to stay overnight than it is to park in the middle of the day and go shopping for three hours.
I just leave my car at the car park at harrow on hill train station, it was £1.50 for the semi as it was sunday. Im sure it was £4.50 the rest of the week. Park there and then train to city centre.
What's wrong with it? I thought all travelodges are pretty much the same. As long as it's got a bed to pass out on I won't really care.
I was in Covent Garden the Saturday before our semi and wasn't impressed. Far too may living statues for me. I found central London quite annoying really. The whole place gets on my tits. Why anyone would want to live there is beyond me.
Each to their own, I always enjoy going to London. I'm not sure if i'd like to live there but I wouldn't mind trying it for a year or two. Funnily enough, my daughter has just been offered a years internship at a company that has its offices in Covent Garden, so I'm probably going to be spending a lot more time there soon.
I booked a Travelodge a mile from the stadium for £74 with an extra £10 for early check-in and £5 for 24hr parking. Easy to get to and from, close to the ground if we don't feel like partying afterwards and if we do fancy it we can just nip on the tube into Covent Garden for a couple of hours after the game. It'll do for me!
