Another lacklustre performance, poor formation, poor decision not subbing Rodwell & putting a creative midfielder (Giacc) on to supply the forwards, has the time come for Gus Poyet to be replaced?
Gus was so so negative today. We, a premiership team playing at home against a championship team. Surely Giacchh or Alvarez should have been in that team today. Seb, Brids and Rodders are all decent players but you wouldn't bank on any of them for creativity. That team today was screaming for Giachh or Ricky from the outset. I am not a fickle fan. I am of mature age and a season tkt holder but Gus needs to change his mindset from being defensive to attack minded otherwise I will join the Gus out camp. We are currently watching drivel.
Absolutely not I'm not a fan of what he's trying at the moment but at least he's willing to try new things in order to get results. As a fan I loved MoN but he trudged towards his sacking playing the same way week in week out Poyet is a modern student of the game and imo will get it right
I bet Chelsea Man City Spurs and Southampton wished they were abit negative today. You are not guaranteed to beat anybody.
No, but me and Gus are singing from completely different hymn sheets. I'm becoming wary of the man. He completely screwed the team selection today. I'm embarrassed he played that midfield three at home against a Championship team. Bridcutt a DM, Rodwell a CB turned DM who's now playing as a box to box, not very well either and Seb, a RM who's making his name as a hard working CM. That's far too negative for my liking given the venue and opposition. It's nowt against the lads in midfield but it was a trio more suited to Chelsea away than Fulham at home. Spineless team selection. Not a happy bunny, It's like Gus played his entire career as a CB not Attacking Midfielder. I say no because he hasn't done anywhere near enough to be sacked yet.
I'm inclined to agree with you ( I am p*ssed by the way so I reserve the right to declare everything null n void in the morning) but would you have played the same team today? We knew AJ couldn't play so imo Giachh or Alvarez should have players there.
He should stay for now, but something has to change, sharp. The crazy results today have helped him, I'd be looking harder if it weren't for them. It's not the fact we aren't winning, it's the fact we don't look like it, we look shocking. Now, I'm sure this slump in attacking instinct, linked to confidence, has been since his 'Sunderland have always been **** what do you expect?' speech. He's a ****ing dickhead, I'll say that right now.
Been think that for a while but now i'm asking questions of his management capabilities. He bottled it today.
Little things about him piss me off mate, just watched his press conference, no club training kit on etc, who the **** does that? He refuses all accountability yet will take any tiny piece of credit and that is a sure sign of weakness. Jury is not only out I reckon 9 of the 12 have decided, he needs 2 wins soon or he will lose the other 3.
stay. Needs to get the right mix in the middle though. Rodders and larsson way too similar. You can't play both. At least he won't be able to do that next game Not sure what is going on with Giacc and Alvarez mind, not even a shout today?
Overview: He inherited a below average group of premiership players who had ideas they were better than they were. He has had limited funds and (depending on what you believe) has had very little control over players coming in or out. Is the football any better than it was? From what I see and what many of you say it seems possibly not. Are the results better than they were? Yes. Not massively, not a huge improvement but an improvement. Add in that you still have home games against pretty much all of the bottom half of the table and I would be surprised if you didn't get more points/wins from the second half of the season than they first. Poyet as a man has said too much and sometimes you hear him and think "please stop whinging and focus on doing your job", though many managers can have that levelled at them - Hughton is the only manager we've had in the past decade I actually liked as a person. As a manager I still think he's decent. I don't think he's going anywhere soon and I think you'd be weaker without him - who would come in?
The job`s only half done imo. Swap Fletcher, Wickham and Graham for strikers who can strike. Those three have done bugger all.
