Absolutely no shame in defeat today; narrowly beaten away from home by a 'top 4' side.

The game however re-affirms the missing piece in our jigsaw for this season; a proven goal scorer. If such a commodity can be found before the end of this month we can still finish very well, and if he is not cup tied perhaps he can fire us to the later stages of the FA Cup. We'd settle for that.

If not, we will remain an increasinlgy credible side, but one that remains sub optimal.

At least now I dont think we will go down. We wont get a striker this window. Cant think of one (apart from DeFoe) who might move. Can anyone?

Get shot of Bendtner and get a loanee in who wants to play for us, he looked about as interested as a fat lass staring at a salad.

We need someone who is big, quick and plays on the last man who can get us a few goals.

    Step forward djibril cisse

Unhappy at lazio with the racist abuse he has received and knows the club. I posted an article about him the other day wih someone saying he is thinking about moving onloan.

He would be perfect, if anyone remembers his goals against villa away and hull away they were typical cisse goals.

He still has that electric pace and knows were the goal is, would fit perfect as the loan striker in MoN formation.

    Definately a big game player

<cool> nice one talc, to be honst though I think its less about whether Bendtner want to put it all in for us or not, he is just not a regular goal scorer - we need a clinical finisher - but don't all teams?

If we had one today mate we would have had a draw at the very least, not something we would even be thinking about a couple of months ago maybe the MON effect has hit us fans as well.

I don't think we will see the nest from Campbell until next season a 6 month loan of Cisse would be perfect for us. To be honest a fit interested Gyan would be perfect too but that's gone now.

I certainly hope we are looking for a LB too.
I agree about Bendtner, what a strange bloke, if I had half his ability I would be busting a gut to get into the box, just for the pleasure of scoring. I just don't understand why he drifts away from the penalty area when we are attacking.
Hopefully our own strikers will get their chance and step up to the plate.
Caampbell will be like a new signing. :)

now is the time to give connor a good run of games instead of that prima donna bentner, i see no point in him starting any more games ,he is not interested in our club or any sort of team ethos.
sess must be kept at all costs , also craig gardener if possible, apart from bardys loss of posisition with torres not a bad show.
two months ago we would have got well beaten.

I hate Bendtner, sorry. He just pisses me off.

We can get Zamora. Not perfect, but he'd fit fine for me.

Aye Poolie recall your Cisse thread - and he still looks good and would be a decent shout i think too.

Love young Fraizer - for his never say die atitutude alone throughout a very difficult double injury - but we have to nurse him back carefully so can't force him this season. Young Connor needs time too and shouldn't be given top billing just yet

Bobby Zamora - I'm not sure - but in the right set up he might have one last hoorah in him, but I think hos best years are behind him.

Defoe certainly knows where the net is, and strikes me as the most natural goal scorer out there who might be currently available but would he come this far north? I doubt it, apart from Benty that is. . . .I'll get me coat

Somehow these 1-0 defeats where we should have come away with something are the hardest for me to take... I can get over a 2-0 in a day or so but these games rankle for longer. I supose it's the constant thinking "if only".

Still only 2 defeats under MON both 1-0 to top quality sides away, shows we are definitely moving in the right direction
