"Our duty is to concentrate on the next four matches and finish as high as possible, that is our priority. There will be plenty of opportunity to discuss what we will do next season after that". Courtesy of Burnsy on Twitter.
i d say it sounds honest. Indeed more honest than some of the spin we have been deluded by in the past. Maybe, just maybe, Mr Allam doesnt want to broadcast to every penny pinching agent and Professional footballer in the world, that he has money to spend?
Honest? How is it honest? He hasn't even said anything! And do you really think that any of us were expecting to be told the exact budget?
Well we have been asking for a statement but would have like a little more than that...We expect a final flourish to the season anyway but, it would have been nice to have a suggestion of what the summer may bring.....basically we are still non the wiser!
Just listened to sports talk with the Barmby interview mentioned on another thread. He said something along the lines of he has ambitions for the club and the young players he has have ambitions and if Hull City cannot match there ambitions then they will probably move on. He also said that Fryatt is happy here and admitted he needed to have Koren behind him to get the best out of him, he said when Fryatt is on his game he is as good as anyone else in the Championship. Says that he will make sure that he does not spend all week travelling between home and Hull City, he will have to stay in Hull part of the time. Not sure what to make of the Allam statement but I hope even if they are not letting their plans be public that they have already spoken to Nick and behind the scenes they know what they are doing. However my bad feeling still persists.
Hope it doesn't come to that because he will be torn. He loves the club and wants to see it do well, it would be really hard for him to walk away but then again he will not want to work with owners who don't want the same things for City that he does.
My thoughts exactly. Privately the Allams could well be planning new signings for next season, they're just not deciding to broadcast it yet!
Have a look at this: http://www.thisishullandeastriding.co.uk/story-15802293-detail/story.html? ...It looks like there's quite a lot of 'skirmishing' going on behind the scenes. NB looks to be stating his case.
agree with this. Some of the most basic tenets in business are to keep your intentions hidden from competitors so that they cannot pre-empt you, and don't spill the beans to suppliers (agents) on what you plan to do or what money you have to spend as that puts them in control. In the modern world with the more open communications that is increasingly difficult, especially when its something that people care so passionately about as football. one of the things the previous regime did badly was to do much of their business so publicly.
Don't like the way this is starting to play out in the media. The Allams, AP & NB should be doing all their discussions in private and releasing statements when appropriate. All 3 have made different statements/comments recently and I tend to agree with the Allams that the time for releasing information regarding next seasons squad should be done after this season has completed.
I would have thought however that if the Allams wanted to respond to Barmby they could have privately told him that he'll be getting money, which would at least stop him talking about it in the media. As Barmby has come up with another statement since then, it's not looking promising.
The Allam's have already indicated to Nick that there won't be funds available for transfer fees, that's not what he was told when he took the job, I think he's just reminding them of that fact.
