Looking ahead to the next couple of years. If we manage to qualify for champs league this year it is a tasty sum of money to tidy our team over next couple of years. If we do not then we have earned a couple of million already for reaching play offs. europa league could add another 4 mill on top of that.Is this worse case senario managable,or will we have to sell. Ki...hooper...victor or kayal ,each would fetch a tidy sum.All would bring in a huge amount. This is something i would not want to happen for obvious reasons.Brown, leadly, mulgrew ,foster ,mathews, sami are an excellent spine of a team.If we had to sell, i see the four i mentioned as likely to want to move as oposed to the spine of the team.Looking at 28 million pounds of tallent ,we could bank maybe 15 million ,spend 15 million on 3,4 players and have ourselves some tidy replacements.Maybe my figures are out but realistically is this the future senario.
There appears to be a lot of interest in Ki from the Premiership, even more so after his performances at the Olympics (I'm going by what others have said - I only saw about 15 mins of S Korea v Brazil). Apart from that there's no real need to sell unless a silly bid comes in for the likes of Wanyama or Hooper. We might be financially stable but we do play in Scotland and can't afford to turn down silly bids.
He can count, though. Y'know like £5k per week + £5k per week + £5k per week = redundant receptionists
I thought when wee t wanted to post on a rival's board, he would have gone on East Fife or Brechin City or one of the other rivals his as yet nameless club are now testing their inability with. Ki seems to be the one for the road and I wonder is this a reality or based on the fact he hasn't been with Celtic this season yet due to Olympics. Our media foes are in their element preaching doom about players leaving, but this is regular twice annual reporting, one thing Celtic never have a problem with is getting the news out that a player is for sale. Hopefully as few as possible will go and hopefully all those that stay have a happy and successful season.
We'll sell anyone when the price is right but I don't see us pushing to sell any of our top players right now.
The thought is that Kevin Kyle can do the receptionists job when he's injured. Which will be all the time.
Thomas The Cat. You could be right Celtic will sell anybody if the price is right. Just like the Cayman Island team in the EPL, Manchester City and Chelsea. The only thing against what you say is that the Celtic Board has not being doing that in recent years.
