and Park as LM? Where's Tarbs? Would put Diakite in for SWP too, his forward runs are a pleasure to watch. Makes it look so easy going past opposition at times, he's got amazing ball control.

I'm thinking of a 4141 (sort of 451 with added zip) - Solid at the back, added grit with Mbia holding midfielder/stopper - creativity from Granero/Faurlin and pace and support for Cisse from Hoilett and Taarabt

    ------------------------Green------------------------
    ------------Fabio--Nelsen--Hill--Traore-------------
    ------------------------Mbia-----------------------
    --------Hoilett--Granero--Faurlin--Taarabt-------
    ------------------------Cisse------------------------

    Subs:
    Cerny
    Park
    Mackie
    Derry
    Hill
    Ephraim
    Dyer

    Nelsen or Hill.

Diakite picked up 5th booking last night and is suspended.

We need pace as Villa are pacey as well, so that is why no Tarbs.

As far as I'm concerned we definitely need 2 CB and why no Ale or Adel?

I like the idea of 3 at the back but Aston Villa will have Agbonlahor and Benteke as the 2 up top.
I doubt Lambert will play with just 1 so I think we need both Hill and Nelson.

I wonder if Bent will be used and score, lets hope he ain't even on the bench because a deal has been agreed for him to join the hoops in Jan :s

For what it's worth this is my take.

    Green

    Dyer(RB) Hill Nelson Traore(LB)

    Mbia(DM)

    Granero Faurlin Taarabt
    Hoilett

    Cisse

I just hope that Arry can get Hoilett and Taarabt tracking back when we don't have the ball in this formation as it could leave Mbia and Faurlin quite exposed if they don't

Mackie to come on if Cisse shows a lack of interest in the first half, I appreciate a lone striker type role is not always rewarding but for his wages and a hooped shirt I would run my arse off, a la Jamie Mackie.

Stamford, that's the weirdest looking line-up I've ever seen.

How is it weird? Weird might just work. <ok>

I can sense the "formation boffins" are going to have a field day.

Exactly what I was thinking about. Bosingwa doesn't impress me even a bit. Our full backs must give some support down the flanks. It's very hard for a winger to do anything if he has a full back and winger in front of him and his full back isn't there for him. Fabio, Dyer doesn't matter just not Bosingwa

Mackie may have to start on the bench. Don't know if his high octane performances will allow three games in 8 days. Think one of Hill or Nelsen may be rested for the same reason.
Think Fabio will start as soon ad he is fit. I would think that he is Harry's type of player. Looking forward to seeing how Harry sets the team up knowing that we are playing a must win game at home.
Watching the game last night I felt we looked really fluid. Great movement just dysfunctional in the final third. We flooded the midfield and then broke forward with purpose and determination. A slight adjustment when playing at home to reconnect Cisse to the midfield is all that's needed to start creating more chances IMO.
