So after the relative disappointment of the Aldershot game what team/formation would we all play tomorrow? Betsy had his best game for ages on Saturday and it is no coincidence that it came with him playing in his best position on the right. This gives us the dilemma of either leaving Ainsworth on the bench or playing him on the left which may or may not work. Another option, my personal favourite, would be for Beavon to play down the left and JPP to start up front with Rendell. My selected team would be (442) BULL, MCCOY, WESTWOOD, JOHNSON, FOSTER--BETSY, LEWIS, BLOOMFIELD, BEAVON--RENDELL, PITTMAN Subs: Arnold, Bennett, Montrose, Donnelly, Harris, McClure, Ainsworth DISCUSS................

I'm not sure about playing a striker down the left, it didn't work with Strevens and it could just as easily not work with Beavon as it's not a position he knows and he's right sided. Beavon is much more effective up front even though he's not a regular scorer. I think the partnership of him and Rendell is the best one we have. It could work having Pitman on the left as he's left footed, but that would also be a gamble like Beavon and Strevens playing there.

So I would go back to the way that worked well earlier in the season - Ainsworth on the right and Betsy on the left. Until we get a naturally left sided midfielder this is our best option.

    McCoy
    Westwood

Fair point. Guess we will have to wait and see. Hoping for a convincing return to form.
