Do you think that starting the season with a win against a resurgent Leeds United(following their impressive performance against Newcastle United) is a must for a successfull season, or are you worried that their may not have been enough new household name signings to add depth to your squad and the 'SKY curse' may occur again?

We could all do with more players of quality in both our South Coast sides, it concerns me wearing my blue shades, but does it concern you wearing your red shades.? Are you satisfied with the squad you currently have? Thoughts fellow South Coast football fans? :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Basically yes I am reasonably happy with the squad - very good team spirit with a winning mentality. That will carry the team along a fair way
The two new guys appear to be top draw and really looking forward to seeing them in live action but confident about both
Too many new faces would spoil the team spirit and we should only bring in players that are better than we have and should not pay silly money for them eg Maynard saga. No Championship striker is worth £5m unless your Leicester!

i'm confident that our squad right now will finish midtable. if we sign a quality cb and striker, i can easily see us pushing for playoffs

I don't think we could do with more players of quality really.

Hi Minging, on your best behaviour I see...<whistle>
I honestly think that we will sign a Centre Back before the window closes and my prediction is that we will finish between 5th and 10th place.
This would exceed what I would be happy with, as I would be delighted if we consolidated and finished anywhere above the relegation zone.

I was hoping that we wouldn't overdo it in the transfer window and I'm happy to see that hasn't been the case. I said at the beginning of July that I would like to see a maximum of three signings and I stick by that. The continuation of last season's form and mentality is the most important thing.

I reckon we'll see one more permanent signing and possibly a loan if there are any injury concerns - like joesteinberg, I'm glad to see there hasn't been an unnecessarily large overhaul.

Saints appear to have brought in 2 quality players and it seems a CB is on the way. I think we have a very competetive squad now. How are the blue few fairing SB3?

If tonights Reserve team performance is anything to go by we will definitely need to replace some of the deadwood, a back up Centre Forward is a must, there is no weight to the ones we have got.

  13. SB3 I can imagine gripping your armchair with excitement watching our boys sweep Leeds aside and then wishing you'd be born further West up the M27...

    You know you love us!

SB3 - welcome back and I see you are trying to be on your best behaviour. Yes; happy with the squad, would like to get this CB issue resolved by the end of the next week. If we manage to do the deal tomorrow; he won't start. So no immediate need. We are looking good for 10-13th in our first season back - a launch pad for a promotion push the year after. Expect a draw on Saturday - would be delighted with a win.

You obviously have concerns with your setup; simply the lack of depth must be of concern. I see you in the same position the season we were relegated to L1; relying on youngsters and fearing injuries to your established squad members.
