I think we are getting to a point where it may be difficult to create a matchday squad with all the options we have in midfield and defense. What do you think we will be playing for most of the season? We have many options: GK: Reina, Mignolet, Jones. DF: Johnson, Agger, Enrique, Skrtel, Toure, Wisdom, Coates, Kelly. (McLaughlin?) MF: Gerrard, Lucas, Coutinho, Henderson, Allen, Assaidi (Coady?) FW: Suarez, Sturridge, Aspas, Alberto, Borini, Downing, Sterling, (Ibe?) That leaves the subs bench with : Mignolet, Wisdom/Toure, Kelly, Henderson, Allen, Borini, Alberto. No spot for me for Jones, Coates, Suso (likely loaned out), Downing, Assaidi or Sterling. Sterling will play a bit part role in the first team now and then probably, taking the place of Aspas or Alberto or Borini when needed and developing. I think right now Aspas will be the starting RW. I do wonder about BR's latest press conference though and whether we should indeed be expecting 1 or 2 more starting choice players which would drop him to the bench. Either that or his comments simply meant replacing more outgoing players - ie, Suarez and Skrtel.
Skrtel isn't in your starting XI or on your bench but nor does he not get a squad place? You selling him? (this would be my choice)
More seriously, I'd agree with that for now but expect us to sell and buy a few more yet including a CB
He's mentioned in squad list but not for his role. Bold is the first XI = nope Bench = nope No spot = nope Edit: having said that, Toure is enbolded in first bit but Skrtel is in the formation layout bit
Good catch. I don't know what I was thinking. I guess I'm conflicted, I'd put him on the bench instead of Wisdom for big matches but that really depends on his form/Wisdom's form. I rate him, think he was treated like dirt unfairly. He wasn't that bad in hindsight. If he is still up for playing for us, then he could warrant a starting spot ahead of all of them. I guess I'd wait and see how Rodgers rates him.
I'm biased as I really don't rate Skrtel. I'd sell him at the first opportunity and I'd play Wisdom, Toure and Kelly ahead of him.in that order (partnering Agger of course).

Reina will be first choice if he stays (doubt it) Toure is a decent squad player. Don't know enough about Aspas and Alberto. ...so that is me saying show me you deserve a place.
Forge Coates. I dont think he is in Rodgers plans. Also, I think we will see multiple systems in attack. Luis Alberto is a false 9, that is his main specialist position, even though he can play wide. But I think these still have holes so I will include 2 potential new comers judged by Rodgers AM and CB comments. After Rodgers statement today regarding the type of new players that he is still expecting to arrive then all bets are off - as well as formations!
Well he has said already he wants a CB and another AM option. So I reckon that will be it unless Suarez goes.

Basically this is it, if i see the first team danilo picked with a downing or borini o nthe right i'll go mad as aspas is specifclaly bought for right side and frnakly saurez should only be left side. I think skertl is or should be sold if the guy has any balls he'll move and give two fingers to rodgers who licked hole til a contract got signed then dumped him.... same for reina can't see him staying if barca get round to bidding.
Sure. But I feel Wisdom will go to being a player who will just be general defensive cover, and I'm not sure Robinson is ready. I'd happily have Wisdom in the team. I was talking about an interview a few weeks ago.
