We could sign 6 new players but i personally think that Adkins is the kind of guy who will reward our current squad with a chance to impress in the first game. Plus if we get spanked it will be marginally easier for him to drop a couple of players and play the newbies. But if we win........ That said i expect J Rod to start regardless. Its so exciting it hurts!!
Rodriguez on the wing?? I know right-midfield is a weak point but really? It's probably a bit early to predict this yet, we could have several new players by the time this match comes round.
Unless Sharp has the miracle change that Rickie did last pre season in terms of fitness, i would think J Rod will relegate Sharp to the bench. Lee could play right wing if fit, but i say give Guly a crack. He will have more time and space to pick passes out it the Prem.

Think so. I think it might be where we play him. Unless he begins as a bench player..don't see how he can push Sharp out the side. We'll see though..

I would agree with Le God and play ---------------Davis Richardson-- Fonte--Hoovield--Fox ------Hammond--Schneiderlin ---Lee------Lallana-------Chaplow ------------Lambert Because I think the likes of Chaplow and Lee can get stuck into their fullbacks/wingers, and Lallana can slot back into midfield, while we will also pose a threat to their goal.
Maybe, I'm hoping we'll have another winger and center midfield to go straight into that starting line up tbh. What team would you play?
Yeah thats true, i might be wrong but I think the team could benefit with having the captain starting this game.
Man for man, on paper, we'll get torn up whatever we go with. Fortunately the game doesn't always work like that. I think we need to move Lallana inside to see the best of him next season. Wingers don't have to be great defensively, but we do need wingers who will stick more or less to their side of the pitch to help deal with opposition running down the flanks. Lallana holding his position would completely stifle his natural game.
