What does everyone think the score will be on Saturday? 'Boro is always a difficult trip and will be a tough first game of the season, especially if we have new players arrive this week and they aren't given time to gel with their new team mates. I also think that after the nightmare season 'Boro had last year they will really be up for this fixture and will be in and around the playoffs this season. Although they have lost there main striker Leroy Lita today. Like i said this will be a tough game and i can't see us starting the season with a win. I'm going to go for 2-1 to 'Boro. With Kitson scoring our goal. I hope i am proven wrong though.
I can see us winning this. We have done very well at Middlesborough, in recent years. They were pretty dire last year and the fans will soon get on their case if we nick an early goal or two. 3-1 to Pompey.
They haven't had a great pre-season whereas our lads are going to be really fit (as a skier I know how fit I come back from 2 weeks of strenuous activity at high altitude where the air is thin). Plus they've got a loanee goalie. So let's go 3-1 to us. I'd love to say 2-0 but I just think we're going to ship one.
0-0 draw there are always loads of draws on the first day of a new season, and I think we are going to struggle for goals unless we sign a new striker, the sooner the quicker.
