No. Best/Ranger/Lover and Ameobi are all way ahead of him in the pecking order IMO. He's cover.. simply as.

Depends, who is going to be fit for the game? I'd rather start Kuqi than Ameobi because he is scared of playing in the mask, and I would rather start him over Lovenkrands after his last performance.

But I'd rather have Best & Ranger start ahead of him.

Some people have suggested he should start as he's physically stronger than almost all if not all of our other strikers.

I see your point but I don't see him threating Stoke's defense too much.. at least Best and Ranger have some pace and skill about them, same with Lover.. Ameobi's just a poor mans Carroll.

To be honest none of our strikers are top-draw, that's why we crucially need 1 or 2 QUALITY forwards next season(Gervinho/Gamiero/Pav/etc..).

Kuqi's a average Championship striker IMO, he's fifth choice until the end of the season when he finally gets released, I just don't rate him, even at his best he wasn't that good.

I think maybe Ranger - Kuqi start. Despite Best being the best at the moment we need big players in there. Let Shola get confidence in the mask against less physical sides

I'd like to think he was ready but I'd rather not risk him starting at the moment. Maybe bring him on gradually with the last half hour or so.

He could well be, but is he fitter? I very much doubt it. He's played about 17 minutes football since christmas.

No idea why, felt the need to point that out.

Didn't he play most of the reserves match the other night?

Not start but I think he should play some part.

Problem is Kuqi relies on strength almost exclusively, Stoke's defenders are very balanced players as well as physical. We cannot beat them playing their own game so I feel we have to start Best+Ranger for a bit of pace.

I would start Kuqi on the bench and get him on early in the second half if things aren't going well. And by early I don't mean with 5 minutes to go.

Misread what you said, thuoght you were saying he had literally only played 17 minutes as if it was fact.

My bad, yeah, I get what you were saying after reading it properly!

This. IMO after Lover's ineffective performance against Everton, Shola still not 100% and Kuqi being a last resort, we should definitely opt for Best and Ranger.. a mixture of good strength, threat in the air, decent on the deck and they have good enough pace to trouble there CB's, although I'm not sure we'll get to much off a sniff.. IMO Kuqi, Shola and Lover should all be on the bench.

Best and Ranger for sure. as has already been pointed out, we won't be able to beat them at their own game, and those two offer something different, Loven might be useful too but Best is the man in form and start Ranger ffs Pardew
