1. McKenzie 2. Adshead 3. Lloyd 4. The rain - moved quicker than most of the team ! I wasn't disappointed (as such ), that Gills lost..... I was disappointed that much of the squad were not 'intense' in their battles and too static -- so many times Wigan players seemed to 'walk' straight past us....... oh well - as long as we can be better than 4 other sides in the division. ...... as for MOM being Dempsey - I think the sponsors got confused with Wigan's No.8 (( how much room did he have ALL game - it was a wonder that it took him over an hour before scoring ))
Tutonda easily his best game Adshead ditto Ehmer All and all thought everyone from Gills played well and could quite easily been 2-2 against top of table team. If we continue playing as well as that we will move up the table. Special mention to Tutonda who I have been giving some stick in the past so well done
Bit harsh on the Gills. Actually enjoyed the game between a top team and us. We created more chances than normal and quite easily gained a point
gioblues, I respect your opinion...I may seem a little harsh - but the fact is - Gills were lucky to be 0-0 at half time. Wigan were no World beaters. They might ( or not ), have better quality players - but- my main 'criticism is that Wigan were more aggressive ( fairly), in their desire to win the individual challenges.... I saw too many that were cheaply 'conceded -- and that is disappointing ( to me. ) I also feel that our shape and tactics places too much pressure on players such as Tutonda - which invariably means that our fullbacks are nowhere near enough the forward that attacks down the flanks - who can usually get in many crosses into the penalty box - creating havoc and panic - which you must admit happened more than a few times in the match yesterday. ........Anyway even if Wigan's player are of a higher standard, that is no excuse not to properly get stuck in.
