1,2, and 3 = all of the side.
I know we lost - but - you cannot fault the commitment... The Sunderland defence made some brilliant blocks... Gills deserved a little more luck than they got...

It would be easy to pick out the disappointing way in which we conceded -- but -- they were in areas where we are not 'blessed' with 'greatest' quality (( don't forget we are a humble l1 side - NOT World beaters. )) - but the way in which Gills gave 100% was encouraging - you just can't beat bad luck when it's just not your day !

It's strange really, because when we were under Mad Dog, our league position at this stage saw his departure - yet as I was saying before todays game, we can't fault the team or the manager, we just don't have the financial clout to compete anymore. Even if we did and went up to the Championship (which is not ever going to happen again), we'd be straight back down, such is the financial divide now and what I see as the current capabilities for us as a club.

Our only hope is something can happen for us in the January window, I think we've got enough not to go down, we just need to keep taking our opportunities against lesser opposition. Just so pleased we didn't embarrass ourselves today, as alwaysright often reminds us, it's not the losing, it's the commitment that matters.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to some local national league football in a few years time, so don't go spoiling my dream. :bandit: Just no one mention Southend!

Good performance today from all the Gills players and very unlucky to not get at least a point. Better team for first 35 mins and last 25 mins.
    1 O Keefe
    2 Bennett
    3 Tucker
Real shame Carayol came off as really could of done with him against 10.
Also pleased that Jackson was back

The stats show that the Gills really gave a good account of themselves despite losing.
I just hope the naysayers get behind the team instead of attacking them all of the time.
