I honestly cannot remember the last time I was so annoyed after a game, and I've seen managers walk for less than what I have witnessed recently... MacDonald was on course to be my star player, but he's not, simply because once again our team loses its discipline, through an utterly stupid challenge. Graham may also have featured in my top three, but today, his oposite numbers were better than him, but then to miss the penalty when even a blind man could see Samuel was frustrated during the game to get his chance. Robertson, what was you doing? Oliver, what do you do? Evans, yet another yellow, ill discipline does not get you results. I'd go on but I'm pee'd off, so here it is... 1. Jackson, well done fella, another good performance 2. Tucker 3. Samuel, purely because I saw he was frustrated with himself, I'm not kicking a player when his luck his down. But STAY on your feet, please. Medley would have been my fourth choice
brb - let me see if I can Pee you off a bit more...... who the Hell is Robinson ?---- Is he the half brother of Karma ? What can you tell us about the last time Gills failed to score in 5 games in a row --- 1961 ?
Anyway as I said in the first line, I've seen managers walk for less. Although oddly enough, i think we show enough potential to turn this around. We just need to find a goal scorer or the current strikers to start hitting the target, by that I mean Oliver and Samuel.
I am as 'perverse' as you -- despite the appalling sequence of results ((( you 've seen my ''Goalless until December'' suggestion ))) - the last two games have shown that Gills can compete ((( until it comes to the critical factor in Football - scoring )))) -------- I know that last season started slowly. I haven't given up hope ...... (( I didn't really have any in the first place. )))
I can't say that i've really been bored with any of the games I've seen, I think the worse one I was fortunate enough to miss. The players really do put in an effort. Graham has been outstanding throughout, he was less so today, but that's because I think Sunderland had done their homework on him. Hence why Jackson was able to take advantage and be my MOM. I would have liked to have seen Graham pair with Medley, but I'm not sure how that affects MacDonald, who up until that stupid challenge had put in a decent performance. The problem is the front two OR as I'm not a tactical person is it because they are not getting the service they need? Samuel was trying today but nothing would fall for him, hence why if i'd been the captain, I'd have got him to take the penalty, I don't know why, I just knew Graham was going to miss it, I think because of the way the game had been going for him. Thing is no one is actually doing anything wrong, it's just quite simply not working for them. It's like the luck was all used up against Oxford. I'm not shouting for the managers head and there is a reason for that, we've got a decent bunch for our money....we just need some luck and Oliver or Samuel to find their scoring boots. I'm just so annoyed after today, I needed time to calm down.
1. Lumley. I know he is only here for about 7 days, but he did well and looked solid. 2. Tucker. He won't be with us next season. 3 Jackson. He put in a good shift. I know MacDonald got sent off, but we complain if a player doesn't put in the effort, can we really complain when one does.
The last two sending offs have cost us both those games. Both tackles were reckless and demonstrated the same ill discipline that we are starting to see creep in at the dug-outs. Also on a thread bare squad, it limits availability for the next game, so it's a double whammy. The effort I want to see is someone putting the ball into the back of the net, surely it's not that difficult, even @alwaysright could play blow football better from the GRS and manage to score.
