    For the Blackpool match :

    1. Wright - picked up a knock early on but ran it off and did his usual efficient job of breaking up Blackpool's occasional forays forwards.
    2. Ehmer - on a terrible pitch did what was necessary and did it well.
    3. The general standard was so below par that I'm not going to make a 3rd place choice as nobody really stood out for me other than Wright and Ehmer. Dack was well marshalled and consequently generally ineffective. Samuel worked hard but with little end product, similarly Donnelly after he came on and Loft did little wrong, but overall there was no ability to penetrate a well organised Blackpool defence.

As Leedsgill said, it was a classic 0-0 draw with a penalty in between.

Overall it was a pretty miserable afternoon with a very poor quality pitch, rain and sleet blowing in on a very cold and gusty wind and many of the Gillingham players looked as if they didn't really want to be there. At the end of the match the significant travelling support (must have been more than 400) undoubtedly felt the same.

I had forgotten how cold it was upnorth and itstim probably hit the nail on the head with the comment that Gills did not look like they fancied it. The strong points of Gills game has been the liveliness of Dack and Samuel and the mobility of our fullbacks who terrify opponents even when Jackson and Garmston are making errors. Well, Dack and Samuel never got going and the fullbacks were poorl.
For me the only positives were Egan and Ehmer with Loft and Morris at least managing to control midfield for some of the time. So...
    1 Ehmer
    2 Egan
    3 Loft

I see the stats say Gills had not one shot at goal which seems to tally with my memory although Ehmer did have one shot that looked goalbound before it got blocked. Goals may start to become rather scarce.

This is the first game I have been to in a while, and agree the Gills just did not look up for it. This was another winnable game, but we did not get into gear. I thought Jackson really struggled when in great positions - it just was not our day
    1 Ehmer
    2 Loft
    3 Egan
