A disappointing end to the home games for this season, tricky to pick out a top 3, but I'll go with:

    1) Tom Nichols
    2) Ethan Coleman
    3) Cheye Alexander

If he ever reads this site (doubt it) he needs to sign that contract, if he wants a longer contract, then I hope Brad gives him what he wants. I won't cry over it if he don't, but he's a valuable player I just want in our team.

MacDonald is my favourite player, I'm a softie for a warrior, use to love Charlie Lee just the same, don't care how many reds they get, they play my style of football.

Although I would swap Cody in place of Nichols, the latter flaffs about too much.

Tough one this can only go on first half as all were poor second half. Not sure how sponsors gave Mom to Alex I think he is great and I really hope he signs a new contact but he was not good on Saturday gave the ball away got caught in possession and his corners were poor but everyone has an off day.

    1.Tom Nichols,
    2.Cheye Alexander.
    3, Robbie McKenzie.

    1. Coleman
    2. Nichols...btw, brb, Tom performs much better in a team without Hawkins than Cody ever did without Akinfenwa.

but - the real star was.................. Tony Smith ! He was the real saviour of The Gills.... He put his own money into saving the Club (( instead of using the Club as a cashcow. )). I have praised Scally's ability to do an 'Arthur Daley', whilst in control of the money at GFC - but Scally has only ever been around to bleed the cow dry.

When Scally paid that £1 to buy the Priestfield milking parlour, if Smith hadn't waived a huge personal debt, and persuaded other creditors to accept a small percentage of money they were owed, GFC would have ceased to exist.

nb - a nice touch by the Newport fans... All, ( except one, as I could see ), joined in the minute's applause - thankyou.

    I absolutely agree.

Although is Tom the right sort of player to get us out of L2?
    Is Tom more a L1 player than a L2?

History has shown us that if we get the mix wrong, it's going to blow up in our face - take Martin Allen who after smashing L2 was going to smash L1.

Which leads me to say Harris is a L1 manager not a L2 manager, Evans is a L2 manager like Maddog, not L1 managers. Cody was a L2 player, Dack was the L1 player.

If we don't hold on to Alex, we could end up regretting it. I said if we didn't hold onto Jordan Graham, we would end up regretting it, we did and got relegated in the process.

We'll skip over Joe Martin, I'm only human. <laugh>

Cody scored more goals without Akinfenwa than with him. Don't allow for your age to cloud the facts always.

Pegleg - regarding the total of goals etc - I am sure you're correct - however,
If you re read my post (( or any post )) , you'll struggle to find where I have claimed the number of goals scored by Cody - either with or without Akinfenwa......In my previous post I said that Nichols performs better in a team without Hawkins, compared with Cody in a team without Akinfenwa..... As I have said - many times - I look at the overall benefit to the team, when I assess any player's performance.... perhaps I'm using the wisdom that comes with age !.

edit - for brb - you can bugger off - until August - enjoy your summer of fishing - although, you've never stopped fishing !<laugh>
