1. Mahoney - great goal... and very good first half. 2 Lapslie - I know he wasn't on for long - but - was having a great game. 3. Coleman... I think he adds a bit more than McKenzie. I thought Bonne had a fairly good game ( mainly in first half. ) I was hugely disappointed with Jayden... Had a great opportunity - but seemed to have put his boots on the wrong feet. ......and this might please Pegleg - Masterson caught napping by Morecambe's scorer -- I can't appreciate errors that cost points - (( otherwise, Connor would have been in my top 3. ))
Mahoney( goal of season ?) S Williams Coleman Whole Midfield so much better than last week. We passed the ball with purpose. Also Lapslie looked really good before his injury Bonne possibly had his best game but think Hawkins will be ahead of him if fit. Surprised Clarke played in middle rather than wing. We saw last season when Green did that he was less effective and then dropped. Hope same thing doesn't happen with Clarke. Overall possibly best league performance this season.
Good performance by both sides, Mellon for Morecambe clearly a threat, although the new rules became his undoing in the end - maybe a warning to all players, silly yellow cards early in the game can cost your team near the end. I believe Mellon is on loan to Morecambe?...if so they will be very lucky if they manage to hold onto him for the season. Anyway... 1. Mahoney I'll be surprised if anyone scores a better goal and a constant threat to Morecambe 2. Lapslie for reasons alwaysright has already given. 3. Bonne bit of strange one but mainly because he caught and kept my attention for a change, and don't think I hadn't noticed the extra yards he was trying to gain at freekicks, this is despite getting a ticking off from the ref after one of our goals Bonne demonstrating if you want to win games you need to keep possession of the ball, even when it's not in play - I liked his mindfulness. I was going to add Coleman as third but as other people have already given him votes, I don't feel so bad leaving him out.
1, Coleman great to have him back. 2, Mahoney great goal and put in some dangerous crosses throughout the first half. 3, Bonne I have not been impressed by him but I thought on Saturday particularly the first half he looked like a real target man his first touch and control was good and he was unlucky to have his goal ruled out. I think Bonne and Hawkins may be our best front 2 once Hawkins gets himself match fit. I thought Johhny Williams had his best league game for us as well.
