If the Gills had won last night, we would have only had been 2 points behind Pompey in the 6th play-off place :(

Not exactly overrun in this thread ! ----- and yet I can give you a 'positive'
Last night was a terrible match to watch (( and to think there was 'decent' Champions League that I chose to ignore - what an idiot I am ? ))

Before I get up to full speed - let me say : the quality of football from both teams was excrement. It will do nothing to encourage anyone to pay £10 for ifollow - let alone a match day ticket - and as for a season ticket - don't make me laugh! --- The game was truly one of the worst matches I have ever seen............................
...................... and now for my criticisms!

Tucker was dreadful last night - almost to the point of 'suicidal' tactics when trying ( miserably ) to contain opposition strikers -- and, although I deplore 'hoofball' - there is a time when it is necessary -- and the same applies to Bonham -- get rid (properly! ) - and preferably not to the opposition - when you're a mile out of your goal....... and can somebody please tell O'Connor to 'get stuck in !' - He is guilty of many counts of 'bottling' it - instead he simply allows the opposition to take control of the ball.... He's slowly reaching the same level of uselessness as Jackson...... And talking about useless - in the Ipswich game, Akinde escaped my wrath - with his pathetic attempt at a shot - immediately before our 3rd goal --- last night he treated us to another woeful effort - when it was probably easier to score -- a point which didn't escape my attention with Lee's effort (( yes the goalkeeper made a point-blank save - but he shouldn't had stood any chance to prevent a certain goal. )).... and whilst I'm moaning - is there any chance that O'Gilvie can throw the ball to Gills player (once-in-a-while ? )

You may think that I am being harsh - and that I am merely reacting to a defeat.... Think what you like ( as I will ), but try remembering the moments to which I refer - then understand that these are professional (so-called) footballers. I appreciate that they are in L1 and won't be brilliant - but much of what I saw last night was worse than you'll see in a school playground.

I promised you a 'positive'........................ Well - for a Saturday fixture at Fleetwood, I would have had a 5am start... got home about 11.30pm... and spent ( wasted ? ) loads of cash --- instead of a mere tenner for 90 minutes of misery!

Fleetwood was good for meeting friends (and still is) but it was one of those journeys I would put on par with going to Preston, as Fleetwood wasn't around as a League Club in our younger days. Even then, it wasn't so much the journey, but the turnaround time, you'd be lucky if you had an hour for the pub before the game. Then straight home again. The players do it for a living and are paid to do so, whereas supporters you pay for the privilege, and it's more as a long day out. I think a lot of fans are going to take some persuading in the new world (post covid) to do so again.
