    1. The green inflatable dinosaur -- was more lively than most Gills players............ tell me I'm wrong.
    2. The referee - whose incompetence meant that Colchester were denied two penalties..... don't give me that Nichols was denied a penalty - never - and if the referee had been consistent, he would have booked Nichols for diving..... and Nichols was lucky to have not seen a second yellow - when Williams got booked for a foul that Nichols conceded!.........but, then you'll say that the Colchester forward should have received a 2nd yellow for persistent fouling after he had already been booked - and you'll say that Colchester's 3rd goal was a mile offside.......... OK - the officials weren't good - but- at least two of Gills players had an absolutely shocking performance -- ((( I will let you all guess which they were. )))

At the end of the day - a lot of blame must lie with Harris... He got the formation and tactics all wrong.... Everyone could see that Colchester's left winger was giving Alexander grief - but it took until 0-2 to close the barn door (( a little. ))..... He also played Mahoney in the middle of the team - I thought he was meant to be a winger...... and, of course, after it started to go from bad to worse, we again resorted to hoofball.

If us mere plebs can see when things aren't working - surely Harris can.... Seriously, he could (should ) have taken Alexander off in the first half.

I believe that we have forwards good enough to score - but they need service... They need better 'play-makers' - and perhaps good old-fashioned crosses from wing play...

What was on display for most of this afternoon was the same crap that got us into the mess of League 2 - and - was taking us even lower.

Well I did say we would score nil....I never saw Colchester scoring three though, absolute disaster yesterday.

Their third goal was offside btw, I know the lino hasn't got eyes in the back of his head, but it was...

I'm not disputing the red card for us, other than to say on the balance of things it seemed a tad harsh, but it is what it is. I say this because there was a close chance in the first half a Colchester player should have walked, and the ref used commonsense and gave a warning, after the yellow to say hey lad, you're going to be off next time, just a shame the same commonsense judgement wasn't used for our player.

But regardless of the balance of probabilities and fairness, we can't deny Colchester scored three goals, only the players can know in their hearts why that was, this week has been a car crash of a performance, but we move on and leave this display in the past, where it belongs.

Anyway, I didn't do my star player ratings so here goes...

    1. Mahoney
    2. Ogie
    3. Alexander

I nearly added Nadesan as third, that loose ball he ran the length of the pitch for, when it looked odds on to get to the keeper first (which it did), is the sort of spirit I like seeing from players.

After 4 wins from 4, that was very much a case of being brought back to earth with a bump!
Anyway, the best on a bad day were in my opinion:
    1) Ogie
    2) Mahoney
    3) S Williams

Not easy to pick 3 that played anything like well yesterday.

    1.Shaun Williams
    2.Tim Dieng
    3.Shadrach Ogie

Thought Max had a total mare responsible for 2 of thier goals and I can see Connor coming back in at Grimsby ( not too concerned what happens at Luton) there was always going to be bad days despite the signings which I still believe are promising.

Think Colchester definitely should of had penalty and Alexander sent off. Third goal should of been off side. Coleman was also a red card.

I sadly only saw the first half on the small screen of my phone in the bright sunlight of the Algarve. I thought we looked like it was a foregone conclusion.
Please correct me if I am wrong, did they not beat us 4-0 in a pre-season friendly?
I have stated in the past the Gaffer has made some very very strange decisions, and Saturday seems to have been a massive mistake, the record should have been up for grabs. But it seems it was all about the record. Well let us see if we can move on from this hiccup and get back to claiming those 3 points, even if its 1-0.
We are definitely missing some feeders to the attack, hence the 1-0 results. We have some tasty forwards, but they need help
