1) David Tutonda - Much improved in recent weeks, and he capped off another good performance with the opening goal 2) Dom Jefferies - Another who has been in good form recently, and he contributed once again with endless energy from midfield 3) Glenn Morris - Some important work from Morris in the 2nd half to keep the clean sheet as Colchester tried to get back in the game
Tutonda Jefferies Morris Tutonda has been very good in recent games, maybe a left back is not essential anymore. Jefferies looks like Harris best signing in the summer and must be fav for player of season with Morris
1. Morris 2. Jefferies 3. Wright................. .... and neither of the goalscorers!!! The WHOLE team played well... The performance was EXACTLY what I expect from a Gills side playing 'Away.' They were solid in defending - and whilst not as adventurous going forward as v Hartlepool, the goals were well taken. (( even if the marking by Colchester for Nichols goal was awful,)) I almost feel mean not to choose Tutonda or Nichols - for their goals, but my choices expressed my opinion regarding the amount of contribution, by each player, in the whole match. The 'Community' award surely goes to Colchester ! .... a nice gesture to provide a free programme for all the fans - the £3 'saved' paid for my parking!
