The goal highlights the need for Gills to recruit proper fullbaacks (( or, at least, use the correct players in those position. )) -- what the hell was Williams and Jefferies doing in the right back position ? - Williams showed that he cannot play in that role - and by the time the forward walked past him, Dom wasn't able to stop the attack developing.

I'm wondering if the long journey to Barrow meant the Gills players were' stiff' and not in the best condition to play a game of football.... I know that people will say that they are athletes, and have time to loosen up before matches -- but -- in what other major sport are the participants expected to perform after a 6 - 7hour trip ?
I know that travelling on Friday would have greatly increased our costs - but- sometimes those sort of investments can more than pay for themselves if the result leads to promotion.
nb - the performance at Carlisle (( another local derby )), earlier in the season, was equally as poor as at Barrow -- our two longest trips !

I agree with your observations, maybe one for the new owner to factor in for the future (new season), with any thoughts from the gaffer (NH)...obviously this costs, but as you have highlighted and there may be important benefits to that cost when in search of auto promotion.
