An absorbing game, not so much for the quality of play but for the uncertainty of the outcome. Some credit to Gills for ending the game on top after it had looked as if they would be swept away early on. hilarious reaction in the Medway stand to the selrection of Legge as MoM after he had missed every header in the first 40 mins (until he rocketed in a header to the Crawley net). At least he was not quite so bad in the second half.
Excellent debut by Doughty even though he was not match fit. Clear cut MoM. Game performances from Egan, Martin and Nelson. For my money;-
    1 Doughty
    2 Martin
    3 Egan

Not the worst game but not the best game. That would probably sum the game and our performance up well. I still believe we can survive but we need to start improving fast and get a win so that we can end this awful run. Hopefully Loft can come back in the next game and show leadership and not make a stupid mistake like he did that cost us the other week. With him and Kedwell in the team I think we will improve as it is important to have some experienced heads in the team to lead us. Anyway back to the Crawley match.

    1. Doughty- A very good debut. Easily man of the match by far. He looks a very good player with a decent passing range and also attacking intent. The thing I really like is how he moves around easily holding the ball and also gets around the field a real team player who looks like he will work hard. If he continues to play like this then I will really grow to like him and hope we can keep him longer although when fit we have a number of options in central midfield.
    2. Nelson- This is a tough one as I struggled to pick anyone below 1st place as no one really stood out. I didn't pick Legge as I did not feel he was great the only reason why he got named man of the match I feel was for the goal as he wasn't amazing so I did not think he should be in the top 2. I think Nelson played better as he made a few good saves and made sure we kept the score down to just 1-1.
    3. Legge- Thought it was just fair due to the goal that Legge was third place just ahead of Egan. Not amazing and I still feel that Hause is better. I was a big fan of Legge but the more I have seen of Hause the more I think he is far better than Legge. He has a great partnership with Egan and plays beyond his years. I think Legge looks more mistake prone this season than last, that may be due to the fact that Egan shows him up due to how good Egan is and when you think of last season we didn't have that type of class next to Legge. I hope Hause is back soon as I would rather see him in the team. But well done to Legge for getting the goal.
