He will get it right. Only been in the job for around a year. Stability needed. To sack him would leave us in trouble.

People keep saying he'll get it right & I'd like to believe that.

However, I fear we may be heading for relegation, 3 wins in 17, 2 of which were against league 2 & 3 teams speaks for itself.

    3 wins in 19.

Less than a goal a game.

About 1 shot on target again.

On paper, best playing staff since Reid.

Forgive me if I'm having doubts about the fella...

I know he's only been in the job a short time & I'm not convinced chopping & changing ever works but just how long do we allow this to continue?

    This is it Billy.

Bigger name gaffers than MON have had the bullet through bad results.

It would be utterly ridiculous to get rid of a tried and trusted manager so soon. I'm sure that he can see where things are going wrong, and I dare bet that the vast majority were reasonably pleased when they saw our starting line up last night. The fact of the matter is, is that too many players are performing below expectations and booing their every misplaced pass etc is not going to help that..

I think its "I didn’t want him to start with lads" who are very quick out of the blocks with the "I'm now disillusioned with him" on here at the moment and for lads like me who were ecstatic about MoN coming it’s a hard defence of our man at the moment.

The football is ****e. There is no other word for it and I’m not defending that or the poor record at all.

However, to sack MoN, or replace him after 11 months would be a total disaster imo and leave us a complete laughing stock in the game. What decent manager could we attract with a record of 4 different managers in 5 years? It would be an absolute catastrophe imo. I mean, what happens if we did appoint say a Redknapp or Hiddink and they struggled? Do we just appoint a new man every 11 months?

We need to hold the faith a little longer and let this very experienced, successful manager show us why he has a fantastic 20 year record in management and bring the players he wants to the team.

We need to win at all costs on Saturday but what we don’t need is the crowd turning on the team 9 games into the season and only 11 months into O’Neill’s reign. Whether you like the footy or the style or indeed the manager, we need to win against Villa and settle things down.

We also need Gardener back into midfield alongside Catts; Sess on the left wing or Johnson (one on the bench); Larsson as the best right midfielder playing on the right side of midfield and Bardsley back to RB. Rose in at LB and Mig in goal (although Westwood did nothing wrong at all last night) and above all we need Fletcher partnered with either the younger than Saha (he looked way off the pace last night) Wickham or Campbell and just throw caution to the wind.

I’m as depressed this morning as the next man but we need to be united not divided at the minute because if the crowd turn ion O’Neill, I fancy Ellis too will throw in the towel with him this time and then we will be well and truly ****ed.

Isn't that MON's job, and therefore the point mate?

    The collective unit is failing.

It is his job yes, and after last night I would hope he has them in for extra training and basically making their lives hell.
I get the impression when he loses his temper he can get a bit nasty, he needs to show this.

Can't be that scary, they clearly aren't that arsed!

Mate, I hope that he turns it around, I said I backed him 99% yesterday, it's more like 66% now, and Saturday is a MUST win.

I was talking about this last night - Everton have had worse starts than this and ended up top half every year - this is what happens with them when things just click - IF (and it's a big if) they click and start working then we'll be alright - but I haven't seen much to say that it will click!!

It couldn't get much worse than it is to be honest from a players perspective, playing ****e football and our only EPL victory came to a team playing ****e football with 10 men. I'd be ****ing embarassed to collect my wages TBH.

We need a reaction from them this week otherwise the crowd will turn. Villa are playing as bad as we are, we're at home, we simply must win this one.
