To Scotland http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/16248937.stm Scottish Premier League clubs have been given the green light to have safe-standing areas within their stadiums.
Correct ^^^^^^^^ this. All the Sheffield police had to do was 1)Close the middle gate before anyone arrived and 2)with the crowds outside being what they were the KO should have been delayed. Those 2 meassures implemented and nobody would have died. But the sooner terraces come back the better. Then those who wish to stand can and those who wish to be seated can and everyone is happy. Its simple to implement just that our powers that be are dragging there heels on it.
Don't patronise me. There are some people on this board who claim to know everything about everything and you're the worst offender. Once again you are right and everybody else is wrong.
NFUNo1 I am please someone agrees with me about what happened at Hillsborough. Obviously the easiest people to blame are the police. Lets be right some Liverpool fans were notorious for charging at the gates to force their way in without paying. This happened when Liverpool came to Boothferry Park. Yes mistakes were made by the police but some of the liverpool fans must also share the blame.
practice what you preach. patronise indeed. you need to look closer to home sunshine. as for Hillsboro you beleave what you want to beleave if it makes you happier. as for everybody is wrong ? what utter tosh. ive heard so many different opinions over the years on that day it would make your head spin. but one thing is true and thats IF that middle gate in the stand had been closed then all fans would have had to use the side entrances and the centre crush would not have happened. as for the KO being delayed that was mentioned by many at the time. i am also not saying that some liverpool fans were not to blame, they were But by delaying the KO the rush on the outter gate would not have happened. end of.
The biggest single factor that lead to this appalling tragedy was the hundreds, if not thousands of Liverpool fans who turned up without a ticket. There have been enquiries and inquests galore as to what went wrong. The government could have saved millions of they'd just gone straight to Mr FRENCH' know it all, friend to the stars'TICKLER. The Oracle at Delphi has **** all on this clown. What he doesn't know it isn't worth knowing.
Safe standing has absolutely **** all to do with Hillsborough, it's a completely sensible idea and is just as safe as seating, it will be implemented as soon as the FA get their heads out their arses.
are you really that stupid as you appear ? ffs, by delaying the KO was the first action that should have been taken. you obviously have made your mind up and have your views which is fair enough. the goverment used Hillsboro to implement there all seater ground policy. yes changes needed to be made (like the fencies coming down for one) but to ban the terrace was stupid and over the top. anyway you obviously are not open minded enough or mature enough for a debate so this is all i will say about it now. GLAD THAT THE TERRACE IS COMING BACK AND THE SOONER IT HAPPENS IN ENGLAND THE BETTER.
I honestly don't think it will. The modernizing ****ers at the top of the Premier League and the Taylor Report apologists in the government and the short-sighted ones who are obsessed with Hillsborough as a failure of standing areas in football stadia - none of them will want to relax the rules in England. I only hope that when Scotland proves these areas are safe and beneficial, a few of those voices mentioned above fall silent. But they seem to me to be the sort of stupid and intransigent people that discard any evidence with a simple flick of the "English disease" wand.
public opinion normally makes governments listen. it should be left to the clubs who want the terraces back for a trial period of say 3 years. how many fans now stand anyway ? its just typical of the way backward england has become. if over 200,000 e-polers register on line then it will have to be debated in the house of commons.
When I said bollox it was aimed at your ill informed opinion on Hillsbrough , it had nothing to do with the debate on terracing. For that I apologise. I do not, however, apologise for my other comments. WRITING THINGS IN CAPITAL LETTERS IS NOT BIG OR CLEVER. IT DOES NOT MAKE YOUR POINT ANYMORE VALID. For someone who is knocking on a bit you need to grow up and realise that you don't know everything . And stop being so ****ing patronising and condescending all the time.
theres no way this rule will be overturned . If one person dies in a crush in an all seater stadium , the seating isnt going to be considered . Tho if one single person dies on the terraces after any rule change there will be a call for heads to roll. Times have changed , the UK is much more tuned(sometimes overtuned) to health and safety and remembering what some "kops" could be like with swaying / surging crowds , turning back the clock is not going to happen. I think the best most stadiums could hope for is a small allocation of tickets allowing standing in a controllable corner somwhere
