Now is the time for Marcus Evans to step up to the plate and tell the long suffering supporters of this football club what the grand plan is for the future of Ipswich Town football club. The only plan we see at the moment is for League 1 football next season. It is all very well for him to send out his lacky to say that Jewell has the confidence of the board etc etc but I want Marcus Evans to come out of hiding and for once address the blue & white faithfull in person. Surely we deserve this much, especially the 379 hardy fans that had to endure that shower of ****e last night! Jewell is just the symptom of what has gone wrong at the club and has been going wrong for the last 3 or 4 years. It becomes clearer by the day that Evans is only interested in the short term and not the mid to long term plan that will be necessary to succeed. I think we can all agree that Jewell has lost the dressing room quite spectacularly and I see no other outcome then him either walking or being pushed, the only thing left remaining is when this happens. I reckon if we get beaten by our bogey team on Saturday it will be all over for him by the weekend. Like I have consistently said for a while now, Simon Clegg, if he had a shred of honour should also fall on his sword as he is way out of his depth in this role. He can't even run a whelk stall let alone a fine football club like ours. We are crying out for a wholesale change from top to bottom and we should be appointing a CEO/Director of football with a sound knowledge of running a similar football club and alongside him a manager that shares the Ipswich vision for being a club that values youth. It will be an empty gesture if only Jewell is sacked because it will only cure a symptom not the deeper seated problems. Give Russel Osman the gig while we look around for a suitable CEO and Manager. Take time to make the right appointment and decide on a plan before making a permanent appointment. We need the vision and the planning in place before we get the right people in to execute the vision. In the short term things will not be getting any better but with a new regime in charge and a coherent plan in place we can all start to pull in the same direction. At the moment we are at each others throats like ferrets in a sack! If we get relegated this year then so be it and in a paradoxical way it would be the makings of our football club. So long as we finally get the right management team in place and a group of hungry and ambitous players like we had under Burley and Royle I wouldn't mind what league we played in. There is now too much at stake for this football club and Marcus Evans has to act now and decisively. The supporters deserve better than this.
Come on, it's Barnsley and Derby next after Watford. Surely you can't lose all 3 of those, 2 teams even more mediocre than you? and just when I thought I had read a post by a binner without a reference to the past..!
Marcus Evans 'come out of hiding' ? You're having a laugh JWM, I'm beginning to wonder if he actually exists at all. I can't help but think back to that day at Carrow Road when all you Binners were waving wads of cash at us when he first took you over. Dear, oh dear NCFC Premier League, we're having a laugh, Premier League we're having a laugh ! .......
very good post warky. i hope you stick with jewell for obvious biased reasons. it'd feel like things have gone full circle if you guys have a little spell in league one, especially after, as kickitoff mentions, the 'cash waving' incidents. way too smug at the time and bound to catch up with you eventually...
