Stan Collymore on Scotlands Shame

    Stan Collymore believes SPL side Rangers should be immediately banned from European football for this season and next due to their fans’ bevaiour during their recent 1-1 draw with Unirea Urziceni in the Champions League. Rangers’ fans clashed with Romanian police in unsavoury scenes during the game and the former Premier League forward believes they ‘brought shame on British football’.

    Collymore told mirrorfootball.co.uk: “Rangers fans brought shame on British football with their behaviour last week and I think the Scottish club should be kicked out of Europe immediately for this and next season.”

    “Supporters of the Glasgow side clashed with security officials at half-time in their 1-1 Champions League draw against Unirea Urziceni in Bucharest.”

    “And I think the club should be harshly punished right now.”

    “I have heard complaints from Rangers fans that there is an element of Chelsea fans who dawn Rangers tops and cause all the trouble, but I find that hard to beleive.”

    “I saw on camera with my own eyes a Rangers fan trying to rip a seat out for about five seconds.”

    “There were other fans as well who were throwing seats at children and I found it absolutely disgusting.”

    “Rangers should not be allowed to play in the Champions League or Europa League ever again.”

    “If that had been Liverpool fans or Manchester United supporters. or any English fans come to that, there would have been a huge outcry.”

    “Lots of people seem to think Scottish football is more friendly as the Tartan Army and Celtic have a good reputation.”

    “But the behaviour of Rangers fans in a far off field has shamed British football.”
