www.facebook.com/stanbowlesofficial/posts/568001720009715?fref=nf We are writing this on behalf of our father Stanley Bowles. We would like it to be known that our father has unfortunately developed a form of alzheimers. Consequently he finds it extremely difficult to sign autographs etc. We would be grateful for anyone who comes in contact with our father to show some understanding of his condition. We have on behalf of our father been grateful that fans still show interest in him and would be grateful that anything regarding him is played low key. We will continue his Facebook page and hope you will continue to share your memories thanking you in anticipation Tracy Andrea Carl. Sad news.... my and many others all time great R
Gutted to hear this. When i was a kid i used to collect those packs of cards with the bubblegum in and finally got one of Stan and treasured it. All time QPR great. Very sad news.
Extremely sad news Beth, horrible illness, wish him the best, most talented player I've seen at rangers.
Not just a QPR great, but also an England great too. He should've won many, many more caps than he did for the national team. Very sad news indeed.
My avatar is an indication of who my greatest ever 'R' is. All the best Stan, I hope whatever drugs or treatment that's available is of benefit.
Nines i just did a load of research into Dementia and Alzheimers and it truly is a horrible thing to have. My best mates Dad died of it and towards the end he didn't even know who his son was. devastating not only to the victim but the family as well.
Sorry to hear about your mate's dad Ellers. Thankfully I've had no personal experience of this disease but it sounds absolutely awful.
Best wishes to Stan and his family. The likes of Stan, Rodney Marsh, Frank Worthington and of course Georgie Best lit up the footballing scene. They played football with great skill matched by a sense of fun. Wonderful days when they turned it on.
Very sad news indeed, I wish him and his family well too, he is without question my favourite (non Spurs) player, there have been very few with his control, and what a character too.
Sad, sad news indeed. Lit up the 70s at Loftus Road and my favourite Rangers player. My best wishes to Stan and his family...
This is the disease that we all want to avoid the most. All the best and thanks for enriching my life Stan.
Very sad news - I have not yet been persoally touched by this diease, I know a few who have been - a terrible disease
This is sad news. Big hero of mine when I was young, and his loyalties were always to QPR. Great player, who came back to watch the R's as a much appreciated, and unassuming, fan. All the very best to him and his family.
My thoughts are with the Bowles family. Tragic news. A truly gifted player and very proud he was one of ours!
So sorry to hear this...loved watching Stan back in the day. He was worth the ST price alone. One of my all time football greats. (Don't like using the word hero for footballers!)
