You ever remember the Anglo-Italian Cup during the 90's?
Played between sides in Serie B & the English Championship?
It got dropped after a few years because of all the violence involved - check out Birmingham V Ancona
The italian physio punched a Birmingham player, there were mass brawls on the pitch, in the tunnel, court cases after & riots in the town between the fans.
This bloke I know of once got nicked over there & was deported & banned for 10 years of ever going to Italy........few years later his kids were grown up & didn;t want to do the family holidays so his mrs suggested they have a holiday together somewhere quiet & nice like Italy
Every summer she wanted to go to Italy so he had to improve the destination so she wouldn't be let down & would spend ****loads going to the carribean
