My opinion has shifted over the last few years.

I do understand the financial elements and understand QPR lose money annually and that some (not all) clubs have financially benefitted from larger stadiums.

But thats not why I watch or enjoy QPR.
I enjoy the day, the pub before, the others I say hello to at the ground. If I drive, I even enjoy the ease at which I can park in a street 10 minutes away for free.

I like my match routine, I like my seat, I like the company. I often like this more than I like the football.

To give all that up, and placing the football somewhere else, wouldn't be the same.

I appreciate the financial difficulties and I do think about where that leaves the next generation, but for me Loftus Road and all that comes with it gives me as much if not more pleasure than the actual match.

Moving to a soulless shed in an industrial estate to watch another aging mercinary midfielder turn and pass the ball back to another clueless keeper may reduce not increase our attendance.
Exactly this. I could live with it, though I wouldn’t like it, if the deal was we played somewhere like the Cargiant site and there’ll be an FA cup in a decade and a fun little European run. I’d do anything for that.

But it would more than likely be not much different on the pitch. Lots of teams have bigger budgets and shiny stadiums and are where we are. Can’t lose the Lebanese on Uxbridge Road, the pubs, the walk through the houses/flats to the ground. You go to Boro/Coventry/Lesta/Southampton and it’s so unbelievably meh.

Not all being unkind - we all love the familiarity of LR and the match day experience - but with progress / success comes change, which many don't like.

If our only ambition is to finish top half in the Championship occasionally, that could also be construed as lack of ambition. (Where is Sparky when you need him!?)

Bournemouth have a stadium of 11,300 and make it work.
Any massive shiny new stadium will just leave the club in massive debt.

I know we had the artificial pitch at the time, but 25k plus watched Barry Mcguigan. What do Wembley etc do with the pitch for such events?

Plastic trays go over the grass.
They are removed immediately after the events.

Wembley normally do these events after the Cup Final.
Spurs have squeezed events in during the season, much to the groundsmens annoyance.

Can imagine it doesnt go down too well!
Taking into account how crap our pitch has been anyway, why dont we go down that route?

The issue is rarely the groundsmen, the issue lies with the Council & their Licensing.

Spurs initially were only allowed 6 concerts a year, this was increased this year.

Twickenham are very restricted due to the Council and influence of surrounding residents.

I'm sure White City residents haven't the greatest power but it is a consideration when applying for event licenses.

The people who live around the ground are too thick to check the fixture list and lose the plot when the roads of are full of people from 16:51-16:58 every other weekend so they’d be lost if there were suddenly other events.
