Im hearing that the people who make the decisions at Liverpool have made the decision that Liverpool will be moving to a new site at Stanley Park and therefore not staying at Anfield.

Apparently the news will be announced officially in the next couple of weeks. But the decision has been made

Oooooooooooooooooh. Can't wait to hear the news. I've decided that I'm open to whatever they decide. If we are moving it better be a nice stadium.

We lose a huge amount of atmosphere and history if we leave Anfield, but in these days you have to compete financially so I guess a move would be good :/

We've lost a lot of it as it is anyway. The last game I went to was Bolton and it was dire, Newcastle last year was poor too and you often hear the away fans singing "where's your famous atmosphere?". Night time games on the other hand tells a different story, the atmosphere vs City was great and so is most of our evening matches.

I am just annoyed that theyre going through the effort of moving the club to a new stadium that is only 20,000 seats bigger, I mean, what is the point? Surely an extra 20,00 seats can't be worth the extra cost and hassle? I would love a huge stadium like OT or the Emirates to cramn as many fans in as possible and there is no way we wouldn't fill it - we have the second biggest fanbase in the country ffs!

The owners haven't said how big a new stadium will be so try not to win yourself up over nothing Red! Hicks and Gillett maybe had plans for only 20k extra seats but then they struggle to choose which hand to wipe their arse with. If there's one thing FSG have shown so far its that when it comes to generating revenue they're switched on, so if it makes sense to have a bigger Stadium then we'll have a bigger stadium i'd have thought!

The new stadium may only accomodate an extra 20,000, but then there will be room for expansion afterwards. Compared to Anfield now, we can develop it and get the extra 20,000 seats however that is it and we can't make it any bigger.

Also, I'm sure we will have more corporate seats as well as another revenue stream.

I agree with the above poster about the atmosphere - it seemed to be less lively as a result of the Hodgson but results breeds confidence. I'm sure once we start winning more games, scoring more goals and winning silverware, the atmosphere will return.

Who's to say that FSG wont build a stadium which enhances the stadium atmosphere, surely this HAS to be one of the design specs? I'm sure H&G's design was designed to enhance crowd noise so why wouldn't this one?

I agree but for that to work, you need to have some atmosphere to enhance in the first place, which stems from winning.

now now... there are so many elements to athmosphere. being critical of those in the ground just sounds like wumming to me.

    but heres a list:

    1. OOT, right now there's tickets sold all over the place and not by the club either to OOT fans who are getting ripped off. hopefully this can solve this.

    2. tickets for those who make the athmosphere. bascially with more seats to regular joes = a bigger core of singers.

    3. corporate boxes... we lock the suits in boxes looking away from the action and so they are not part of the athmosphere or lack therefor (if there is any)

simply put when it's built its up to us fans to make the place special, not the place to make us special.... an we'll go do that cos we are not going to forget what to do!

I have said many times that I'm really against moving, I have come round to the idea a little now I just hope they do a great job with the new stadium.

I've been pretty impressed with them so far. Don't see why things should change with respect to the stadium.

Moving is a commercial decision, what is the point of staying at Anfield if we can generate more income by moving.? We need
    to remain competitive.<ok>

Agree about corporate boxes. Them being in the middle row of the emirates separating the crowd has been a major element of their dead atmosphere. Also think there should be a dedicated area for the loudest fans, like with the ultras in the bernabeu - they works themselves up into a frenzy with some guy directing the chants with a drum, it really adds to the atmosphere.

RE: naming rights, I know sky would use the official name but I'd hope we'd just call it Stanley Park rather than the Boeing Arena, god forbid.

emirates is also a bit symeterical for want of a better non insulting word... we all hope there is a "kop" type scenario in the new stadium. the corporate boxes breaking the continuity of the fans is a good point. I just think the place is just a big bowl and arsenal fans need to come up with the new way of using it to their advantage.

you go to the us and see big american football games with stadia just like it rocking so arsenal fans maybe are diluted too much, one idea is to have a dedicated "singing" section and offer them as such, so fans who want to sing can compete for those tickets and request them to get together.... then the rest can join in.

I would hope that if the design doesn't have a kop end specifically has one end closest to anfield defined as where the kop will reside and those tickets are for locals by 95%

RedBull Stadium would have been fine. Red bull is a winning brand.
