The interview with Brady on Blunderside was interesting (briefly!!)

He said that the lawyers of both sides were in the process of hammering out a deal that would enable the purchase to happen but ensure that what happened under Lloyd could never happen again.

After that interview I was very, very relieved as that is the ONLY thing that causes me any concern. I have not doubt in the integrity of Assem Allam and his family but nobody can foretell the future and that stadium MUST always be for Hull City (and Hull FC, I suppose) FOREVER!!

This is going to happen, but it will take time.

My old lap-top seems to be packing in so couldn't see the link report. Sounds like good news for City though :)

It baffles me why the council think a fair is more important than a forward thinking plan which would be excellent for the city, it's people and tourism. It's almost one step forward, two steps back with HCC. Maybe that's a bit of a naive view but we need money pumping into the city!

To refuse to sell the stadium even with guarantees over the future of the land is frankly ridiculous.

All of Terry Geraghty's whining was about the future of the stadium.

What exactly does Hull Fair give us, beyond a few pricey nights out? No one goes into the City Centre shops... No one will even be drinking this year now George and Halfway are shut. All it does it make Walton street look a bit better for 10 days of the year, and all the money it raises ****s off with the carnies when they go.

Living in the area, I hate Walton street. It's a bloody eyesore. The market is crap when there's no market and no fair, is function seems to be primarily a place for dogs to ****.

So much better than the prospect of a development turning it into a useful site for everyone.

On another note - what does this say about the unity of the council. Seems like the council leader wasn't even aware of the actions of his cabinet...
