Well, it's quiet with no game today, so I thought I'd ask what I've been meaning to ask for ages. Cest posted a thread recently about taking his daughter to her first game. When my bairn first answered "yes" to wanting to go to the game, it was on the basis that we went in the family part of the ground, as he was frightened of the singing. In fact as soon as I joined in with a chant his little eyes watered up as he was so upset, which shamed me into silence Anyway, kids grow up. We came back for the Man City home and Wigan away game last New Year, and bairn so enjoyed his first away game that I'm under orders that this year we have to go in the "singing bit". We'll be back for the Man City and Spurs home games, as well as Southampton away. The problem is that over the years I've completely lost the plot about the stadium and singing. First there was the North Stand. Then it was the SW Corner. Then the Club changed policy again. While writing I'm looking at the Stadium Plan. The middle of the South Stand is dubbed the "Singing End". Is this how things have really turned out? Is that where fans really go to have a git chant and get behind the team? Any advice welcome!
I first took Niall when he was four, he caught the bug & we got tickets for the SW corner before the u16 ban. He's as vocal as anyone but more so when everyone else is joining in. Just let the youngun have his say mate, I doubt he'll come to any harm. Mind you, it's infectious. It's running through our Niall's veins now. A lifetime of misery inflicted on an innocent bairn, lol.
