From the fail: Around £200,000 had to be spent on being able to install the new Hawkeye goal-line technology, whilst further investment has been needed to add a second big screen, improve emergency lighting and make provisions for Sky Televisions 3-D cameras in six areas of the stadium. Importantly, City have also been spending to improve the experience for fans, with new themed sections and improved concourses aimed at making it a better day out for all, with new wi-fi Internet access also available for supporters both in their seats and on the concourses. Designated smoking areas are also now available. Sorry if this has already been posted. Anybody else have the previous problem of the KC completely blocking out their phone signal like I used to? Thoughts in the investment?
This is on the City facebook page: New Season Preparations: Television audiences will get to see the action from a lower angle this season with new camera positions installed at the front of the West Stand's upper tier. please log in to view this image
Where does the other big screen go? I assume in the South Stand so that the away fans/North Stand home fans can see?
Please, Please, Please have wifi! I haven't been able to check livescore for years due to lack of HDMA or 3g in the stadium.
Wonder if the new wifi will allow us to use SkyGo on our phones? Imagine the final day last year if we were sat watching City/Cardiff and in front of us on the phone was Watford/Leeds.
So a new camera angle for our games, interesting and can't wait for the new screen, wonder if it'll be permanent Free wifi?! Not sure if it'll cope though
Sky and BT Sport are both at the KC today. Sky are filming the walking bits for the team line ups on their live games whilst BT are taking photographs for theirs.
I hate 'free wifi' points which require a password or some annoying login process. You'd think KC would install a fibre connection at the stadium really. I got a photo with it
Should be the council/SMC but it's probably the club. That, like all financial matters, will be the case regardless of any name change. Only the council can sort this sorry situation out.
If its for the benefit of sky then shouldn't they be the ones paying for it, also same with the Hawkeye thing, the PL want it so they should pay, or is that just too obvious?
I don't follow your logic. The improvements for camera's would be in the terms of Sky's contract. If the PL wanted Hawkeye they would say that fitting it is one of the terms of membership of the Premier League.
