Apparently he was most likely a Scot, some Taffs claim he was a leek-muncher. He was sold into Irish-slavery (Eh??) and wasn't even called Patrick when he was born, he was called "Maewyn Succat".
 
also his trade mark colour was originally blue up untill 1800
